That's such a dumb argument though. It's not like it takes brain power to make anything commercial in any music genre. Look how mediocre ALL the music is in pretty much any given top 40 list of any type music. It ISN'T easy to make good techno or electronic music, the kind of music that will endure and find an audience with people who truly appreciate the music. It takes passion, and like any other musical genre, people will hear the passion and the love for the music inside the music itself. It's an artform, plain and simple, and stuff that's "easy", yes, may become enormously successful and might be all you hear in a certain club or on a certain station, but you can't judge or condemn the enormous amount of what's out there just because of the shit that floats to the surface.

I don't find playing it boring at all when it's tunes that I think have some of that feeling and mentally engaging factor behind them, or "beauty" for lack of a less gay term. Yes, pounding away at people with shitty trance and cliche' Tiesto/Oakenfold bullshit is boring. Not everyone who likes to play and mix techno listens to that shit.
