Belloq was a great bad guy.

FABIO2 - 2008-06-17 Seriously? I would think that insanity would be Lucas' idea.
Belloq is great. In a world of famous explorer archaeologist rockstars, he's cut form the same cloth as a rival rocker, but isn't afraid to sell his soul for stardom.

I swear, the Ark makes the best movie sound effect ever, all like, [WWWWORRRRRB... WWWWORRRRRB...]
Also: that really superbad bad guy in the trenchcoat and hat needs his own tag. R.I.P, screaming melty-face glasses guy, we hardly knew ye.

Haha, naw man I'm just joshin' ya, you're cool. There's enough room for that tag though, and this is kind of a funny place to put it, true
Where Is U @, Hodge?

Hodge - 2008-06-17 Done, now leave me the hell alone you freaks.

HURF BLURF DUH - 2008-06-16
The other Nazi guy (not trenchcoat guy) was totally nondescript and ordinary until this scene, then his face transforms into some kind of reptilian horror. I swear, the entire screen test for that role must have been "show us your creepiest face" and that guy won.

Great scene, but I'm sorry "Raiders" definitely comes in second place behind "Temple of Doom." That movie's continuing reputation for inferiority is the best evidence I have that people don't trust their own responses to movies.
It is clearly the fastest, funnest, least pretentious and most enjoyable movie of the bunch.
Now I must close my eyes and keep them closed or face the face-melting rage of the "Raiders"-loyalist Aintitcool wraiths.

B. Weed - 2008-06-17 I'd probably like Temple better if Kate Capshaw's character either died very early in the film or at least spent most of it bound and gagged. She was seriously goddamn irritating (not that Short Round was much better).
|
FABIO2 - 2008-06-17 The reason she never bugged me is because Indy did the correct thing and spent the entire movie telling her to shut up.

Mad Struggle - 2008-06-16
Six year old me shat a pile of bricks at this scene.

Oh, how did I forget to not click the goddamn favorite box? [TF2 Scout]: "STUPID STUPID STUPID!"
I am now going out to buy John Williams CDs and a used DVD of Falling Down. Because I can.

I first watched Raiders when I was 6, then again and again when we got it on VHS. But it wasn't until I was 9 when I could actually watch this scene instead of fast forwarding.
|
FABIO2 - 2008-06-17 The best scene was the opening, by the way.

Repomancer - 2008-06-17
1) The best scene was the opening, though this one is right up there.
2) Raiders is superior to Temple of Doom in every possible way.
That is all.
