Well, it's more than "What dud your rock stars listen to growing up", it's "what did their rock stars rock stars listen too" etc..
Really, if you look into it, You should know that rock was invented in the 1950sl, and if you cannot clench your ass to an old Chuck Berry number, then you cannot rock.
It had to be so much weirder in the 1960s when rock was like 10 years old and people made it up as they went along.
