Pillager - 2008-05-24

I can't even imagine being the kind of person who'd vote for Hillary.

Mike Tyson?! - 2008-05-24

Ahem Mr. Pillager: http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=36189

kingarthur - 2008-05-24

"Ya know, cuz sometimes..sometimes..primaries can run well inta June..and sometimes in dose primaries, ya know...somboddi can get killed. I'm just sayin'...dese things happen. It's unfortunate, but dese things are tragedies."

FABIO2 - 2008-05-24

Did I hear a "SNAP" at -9:05?

Xenocide - 2008-05-24

Someone was training a horse to pull a carriage just off-camera.

StanleyPain - 2008-05-25

SOMEONE WAS TAKING A SHOT AT OBAMA LOLZ

Mad Struggle - 2008-05-24

As much as I like Olbermann, seeing him work himself up into a fury and go on a ten minute rant gets kinda boring after the first couple times.

Camonk - 2008-05-24

I checked, and it turns out that you're stupid and your opinions are wrong.

Mad Struggle - 2008-05-24

Crap, how can I argue with that?!

Billy Buttsex - 2008-05-25

It's not that he's ten minutes long, it's that he's ten minutes wrong

kingarthur - 2008-05-25

What are you, Buttsex? A writer for Rush Limbaugh? Fuckin' Christ.

nocash - 2008-05-24

It's about time someone on the internet had the guts to stand up to Hillary

ChocFullOfFunk - 2008-05-25

You're absolutely right. I'm sick of all the pro-Hillary pages that have been swamping digg and reddit for months.

Cleaner82 - 2008-05-24

This is good stuff, she was called on a nasty, nasty comment.

Hooker - 2008-05-24

C'mon, guys. You'd all be up on Hillary's nuts if Obama didn't exist.

Xenocide - 2008-05-24

Most of us would support her, sure, but it'd be the same kind of "well, she's all we've got, yay Hillary I guess, or something" support John Kerry had.

baleen - 2008-05-24

Pretty much. As soon as Obama entered the picture I recognized that he had a charisma that had been lacking from the DNP for a long time. I think the Krauts are right in calling Obama the next Robert F. Kennedy.

I dislike Clinton enormously because of her lack of leadership on the war. I didn't appreciate her trying to look moderate by comparing herself to Margaret Thatcher. I LOVED John Kerry from his record in the Senate, but knew he didn't have a chance.

Hooker - 2008-05-24

I just find this sudden hatred of Hillary really scary. I'm not going to pretend I follow American politics very closely (the extent of it is mostly talking to a few American friends on a forum and watching Stewart-Colbert religiously), but right after the "Super Tuesday" results, there developed this anthem of Hillary Hatred that was mirrored almost exactly in the liberal side of the media and the kind of anti-Hillary rhetoric I've been experiencing has seemed remarkably similar to the conservative anti-Hillary rhetoric I've heard for the past ten years. It feels really unsettling, but maybe I'm missing something important.

Hooker - 2008-05-24

Also, I should point out that the one star is specifically for Olbermann.

Cleaner82 - 2008-05-24

I have never liked Hillary. Be aware that what seems sudden to you isn't nessecarily so.

Hooker - 2008-05-24

In the individual case, fine. But I'm talking about an aggregate. Hillary has been a promising star of the Democratic party since 2000, if not earlier. The party, inside and out, has been behind her consistently since then until about three or four months ago.

Cleaner82 - 2008-05-24

So in your original statement, by 'you' you meant who exactly?

StanleyPain - 2008-05-24

What the fuck logic is that? "YOU GUYS WOULD TOTALLY SETTLE FOR CANDIDATE X IF THERE WASN'T ANOTHER CANDIDATE YOU PREFERRED!!!"
It's called picking a candidate.

Hooker - 2008-05-24

Well, I said "you'd all," not "you."

And picking a candidate is fine. My point is that if Obama weren't in this, you'd pick Hillary. But since Obama _is_ in this, you seem to pick him as well as lash out with acerbic anger at the idea of Hillary getting the nomination. That's what I find really strange.

Cleaner82 - 2008-05-24

Hillary has always been an unpleasant cunt, but we'd take her if she was all we had. She's not, and in fact the general consensus says she has lost, so she needs to leave now. I can't speak for 'you all' -- you haven't even told me who 'you all' is-- I can only speak to my own conceptions. So take that as you will.

Mordant - 2008-05-26

Hooker, nobody thinks Hillary will get the nomination. She hasn't had much hope of winning since Super Tuesday.

I'm not mad she's still running either. I'm mad she's running an extremely negative and divisive campaign in a primary and she's not even running it well.

The worst part is Clinton has probably ruined her reputation with Democrats forever. She'll never be able to rally Democrats or raise money like she use to and that's a shame.

Xenocide - 2008-05-24

This rant illustrates quite well why I think an Obama/Clinton "dream ticket" would do the party more harm than good. Clinton's made SO MANY shameless gaffes in the past, and she clearly has no concern whatsoever for Obama or the party, except as stepping stones.

Kathleen Sebelius should be Obama's veep pick. She appeals to the same groups as Hillary Clinton, but carries the remarkable advantage of not being Hillary Clinton.

TinManic - 2008-05-24

veep's going to be edwards either way. the country is still mostly dopey white guys, remember.

Xenocide - 2008-05-25

They tried that already. It didn't take.

And there are more dopey white women than dopey white guys in this country.

Xenocide - 2008-05-25

Um, just to clarify, I mean there's more females than males who vote.

panipuri - 2008-05-24

fuck all you haters. even Obama said that this is bullshit. Just like when he said the bitterness and guns comment that got blown out of proportion.

Cleaner82 - 2008-05-24

Ah, 'fuck all you haters'. The backbone of political discussion.

ABoyNamedCheese - 2008-05-24

the mann

voodoo_pork - 2008-05-25

The Michael Mann?

Dinky Patterson - 2008-05-24

Great theater.

Hillary's response should be, "Well, I forgive you, Keith."

TheDevilsDictionary - 2008-05-24

I mostly agree, and I usually like Olberman, but he gets so damn self righteous. He has become a hero of the left, but seems to be enjoying it a bit too much. I just can't buy the red-faced indignation.

Eh, cable news.

Cleaner82 - 2008-05-25

It's his bit. Personally I think he does it well, but I don't consider it genuine. It's just what he does.

voodoo_pork - 2008-05-25

Kind of like AIDS. It's just what it does.

Samisyosam - 2008-05-25

I don't think the heavy Hillary opposition came just because she's running against Obama. It's just that her comments have gotten stupider and more annoying as the campaign continues. Before I thought she'd be an ok leader, but now I'm worried that if she did suddenly surge ahead and become the democratic candidate in november, she might just dig the campaign an early grave. McCain almost seems more qualified, despite being a war fanatic with the worst of the republicans backing him.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-05-25

FACT: Olbermann is a big fan of Harry Potter.

It's not really related to this clip, though.

Stog - 2008-05-25

WHICH HARRY POTTER CHARACTER WOULD YOU BONE IN THE ASS

THE RIGHT CHARACTER EARNS YOU A BACKSLAP AND A NOD

THE WRONG CHARACTER EARNS YOU A SPECIAL COMMENT

CHOOSE WISELY, MOTHERFUCKER

(comment unrelated to clip. Olbermann is awesome, but the hammy anger and shouting at the television should be limited to when he's making Special Comments to people he knows are actually watching him.)

kingarthur - 2008-05-25

Hermione. Was that rhetorical?

dancingshadow - 2008-05-25

Hillary takes too many awful and crazy looking pictures.

KnowFuture - 2008-05-25

Not going to give this any number of stars.
I don't see how what Hilary Clinton said can be construed as a threat, beyond the idea of saying the word "assassination"/"assasinated"/variations thereof.

oh OK OK 5 stars for the penis-slapping fagdance that her quote created.

kelpfoot - 2008-05-25

I'm not even sure what Olbermann is pretending to be worked up about this time.

oswaldtheluckyrabbit - 2008-05-25

He needs to calm down, take a stress pill, and think things over

Cleaner82 - 2008-05-27

Yes, we can call that show, "Sensibly Said", with Keith Olbermann. It will be the most well-thought-out and reasonable show on the air, equal attention will be paid to both sides of an issue, and up will be down because it will be BIZARRO WORLD.

Meerkat - 2008-05-25

"You actually used THOSE WORDS in THIS AMERICA?!"

Oh, Keith. You mean the America that tortures child soldiers? You mean the America that suspends its own constitution because it feels bad about the big bad brown peopel that haet teh freedoms?

You mean the America where we have Lou Dobbs on the TeeVee every night railing against the brown menace from Mexico?

Oh, Keith. You make me sad.

Billy Buttsex - 2008-05-25

Meerkat wears huggies, because she's a baby

kelpfoot - 2008-05-25

Billy Buttsex wears a leather gimp suit, because he likes it when Dick Cheney reams him with a 14-inch explosive-tipped, missile-shaped dildo that was purchased with .8 million worth of embezzled government funding.

DrDoalot - 2008-05-25

Ok, maybe I should be embarrassed that I still don't fully grasp this. I'd like to know. How many of your would read that statement without any preconceived notions and take it to mean she's waiting around hoping for her rival to be assassinated? Also is Olbermann plainly saying to she should never mention a political assassination anywhere, at any time? I'm honestly not trying to make a point here besides my own apparent ignorance.

voodoo_pork - 2008-05-25

The point is well made.

Bort - 2008-09-13

Hillary didn't say "After all, Hubert Humphrey campaigned into June 1968, and look how it turned out for him". If she had done that, then Olbermann would have a point about Hillary counting on Obama's assassination.

As she did not -- in fact she's likening HERSELF to the assassination victim in question -- this is contrived outrage, and Olbermann should be ashamed of himself.
