WOW, those were some awesome animated cutscenes! How'd they manage that with Super Nintendo hardware?

Oh wait, they didn't.

Redlof - 2008-03-27

I never played this game and now I suddenly have the feeling that I missed something very important.

Xenocide - 2008-03-27

Actually, this game is infamously terrible.

It was supposed to be a US-developed spiritual sequel to Secret of Mana, but I'm not sure why they bothered with one since Japan got an ACTUAL sequel which was never translated.

But this commercial makes up for it all. That dog vomited another dog.

Lindner - 2008-03-27

I can't express just how shitty this game was.

If I knew the dog was vomiting up his alter-ego's every time we came to a new world, it would have been infinitely cooler.

Scattersane - 2008-03-27

I actually rather like this game. Great premise. But very grindy. I am probably looking at it through nostalgic rose-tinted glasses.

The dog doesn't quite work that way, though. Oh, he changes, but no self-vomiting. And they probably couldn't show his third transformation because that would put the 90s Extreme type players off.

(A poodle. He turns into a KILLER POODLE. A pink killer poodle.)

Still, yeah, first time a commercial ever really worked on me.

Wikipedia on the dog's final transformation: "... in Omnitopia he becomes a robotic toaster/dog capable of shooting lasers."

I hate Japanophilia, but this game was a pretty good example of what happens when an American developer tries to take over a Japanese franchise (Silent Hill Origins, anyone?).

Get punished for trying to use magic by going on tedious scavenger hunts for ingredients.

Sudan no1 - 2008-03-28

This sort of thing causes Japanophilia.

The preloader reminds of those anime furries eating each other from the other day.

coprolalia - 2008-03-27

This game was such a disappointment. It even crashed during the boss fight at the coliseum.

AgentOrange - 2008-03-27

I liked this game for the atmosphere. The color palette was dark, and the whole game was pretty somber.

RomancingTrain - 2008-04-05

I played it recently and forgot how fucking annoying every single boss was.
