Caminante Nocturno - 2008-03-14

That is clearly 90's music.

SARS - 2008-03-14

yeah, it's obviously (seriously) 90's music -- especially since Sonic wasn't around in the 80's

fluffy - 2008-03-14

It's 80s-style music written in the 90s. Remember that Japan kept up with the rest of the world until 1983 when their cultural evolution suddenly slowed down to about 1/3 the speed (in exchange for their accelerated technological development).

baleen - 2008-03-15

It's clearly 90's music cheaply masquerading as 80's music. That whore.

Sean Robinson - 2008-03-15

Do you all just not like funk?

kingarthur - 2008-03-16

Funk that was pre-programmed on Yamaha RY8s among other devices? No, not really. "Funk" went through a really horrible pop-funk period in the early 90s.

Redlof - 2008-03-14

Far inferior to Toot Toot Sonic Warrior.

joffe b - 2008-03-14

SAVE THE PLANET FROM DISASTER!

and yet it still manages to be less terrible than the tv series.

Camonk - 2008-03-14

Let's be fair: hot needles to the eyes and genitals are better than the TV show.

Caminante Nocturno - 2008-03-14

For all of their pitfalls and shortcomings, things from the video game (and that one OAV released by ADV back in the day) were head and shoulders above the Saturday morning cartoon because they never really took themselves all that seriously.

I mean, up until recently. But I blame the Saturday morning cartoon for that.

RandomFerret - 2008-03-14

Which one? THEY MADE FIVE.

Yeah. Wrap your head around THAT.

thebaronsdoctor - 2008-03-14

And Sonic was voiced by Jaleel white in three of them.

How did this hedgehog become popular again?

Cinnamon Imperialist - 2008-03-14

Anime and furries.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2009-03-14

Cinnamon Imperialist - 2008-03-14

This is nothing compared to the vocal tracks from Sonic R.

CAN YOU FEEL THE SUNSHINE
DOES IT BRIGHTEN UP YOUR DAY

uekibachi - 2008-03-14

Scynne - 2008-03-16

Actually, I agree. This song was good. In a good way.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2008-07-29

Not the best song on the CD, but this one unlocks the floodgates on a torrent of memories like no other.

PlushJake - 2008-03-15

Sonic was popular because you could run through entire levels not worrying about jumping directly on top of an enemy's head to kill it. It'd piss me off when Mario would die jumping into something instead on onto it. Plus the first few Sonic games had kick ass music.

Quad9Damage - 2008-03-15

Not true. You could run until you crashed into something and lost all your rings. A game of Sonic is all about speed in moderation.

j lzrd / swift idiot - 2009-03-14

Keep one ring, run at top speed, roll into enemies, only jump when you need altitude, hit checkpoints, bust an Invincibility Computer, and beat the level with a shorter time than your friend.

Sonic between kid friends boiled down to beating a level with the quickness. It was a cross between platformers and racing games.

Kind of revolutionary for its time, yeah?

The God of Biscuits - 2008-03-18

This song (The first one) is in Super Smash Brothers Brawl, and it's sweet.

poopskin - 2008-03-19

Admit it: this FMV made you want a Sega CD soooo bad.

almo - 2008-04-19

Oh, Sonic. Why must you suck so much these days? Look what you used to have...

Godard's Drinking Problem - 2008-10-14

I like this music.
