Someone needs to lay off the caffeine before titling clips.

Dude, that's how I pronounce it.

Oh come on, guys. Let's go se the new Doandl Duck movie and afterwards grab a burger at McDoandls. If we're lucky, we might see Doandl Trump!

Usually SNL clips are just awful - always packed full of over-acting drama queers, trying desperately to form a "unique" character and spawn a movie deal.

But Norm MacDonald always just played 'Norm,' and it was awesome. Too bad Lorne Michaels is such a mammoth tool, and fired him.

futurebot - 2007-12-01

"Got any gum?" was my non-sequitur catchphrase for at least five years after this.

The best skit in one of their best episodes

The thing about this versus most other sketches on SNL (or anywhere really) is that there's no underlying narrative. If you were trying to describe this sketch to somebody, and they ask you "well what's it about", you'd be at a loss to say that it's about anything other than "it's about the way David Letterman is".

They've stripped away any pretense of comedic structure and are just reveling in the characters and their mannerisms. Just a good-hearted send-up.

-1 for the problematic grammar of the description. And for the claim itself.

I remember when Norm McDonald was fired from SNL, he went on a radio tour around the country and basically did show after show where people phoned in to voice how much Lorne Green sucked.

This is an awesome example of why he rules, and why everything pretty much went to shit after he left.

Hey, don't blame the Bonanza guy.

Xenocide - 2007-12-02

Michael and Arliss were both awful, and so was SNL after Norm left.
