My fiancee has the distinct misfortune to be from Rochester. She was mildly amused to see that the sign for "Pittsford Plaza" looks exactly the same, 40 years on.

I come from near Rochester and you have no idea how fucking depressing this is. If you look at the history of it, Rochester really could have turned into an incredible city. It had Xerox and they pretty much made the Mac OS but THEN FUCKING SOLD IT TO APPLE. If they would have kept it, Kodak was there and they could have made the first digital camera...etc etc. now the economy has crashed and the whole damn place is just horrible.
