I was pretty intent on seeing it before I read that NYT review. Obnoxious motherfucker.

One extra star for J. Jonah Jameson.

Albuquerque Halsey - 2007-11-16

Shut up and help me light this poop I found!

Fingasmcgee - 2007-11-15

I'm not a fan of anime but this looks to be worth seeing.

Shion - 2007-11-15

I'll go see that.

Helena Handbasket - 2007-11-15

I have seen this. It is pretty damned good and freaky, and the theme song is addicting.

zatojones - 2007-11-15

I can't wait until this superflat stuff because the new cliche and I can start hating it too

Samisyosam - 2007-11-15

Your ability to construct sentences astounds me.

baleen - 2007-11-15

I prefer the Tinto Brass version.

papercut_junky - 2007-11-15

the moment I saw the title I started unzipping my pants... then I read that it was some kind of god damn cartoon. Come back Tinto... come back soon.

baleen - 2007-11-15

I have it on VHS if you want to borrow it.

lolcoolj - 2007-11-15

Does "reaching for the moon" in the critic's spot refer to "abusing hallucinogens"?

theSnake - 2007-11-15

Paprika is a spice, and this looks like a Matrix ripoff that is several years late on cashing in. Also, I saw a giant robot in there, those people really can't make a movie without one can they?

coprolalia - 2007-11-15

Farms have chickens. lol japan amirite?

Udderdude - 2007-11-15

I've seen this movie subtitled, you are completely wrong.

Xenocide - 2007-11-16

Who else is sick of teenage kids who think the Matrix invented surreal film imagery? Or that it was original?

eatenmyeyes - 2007-11-16

Just keep them out of my philosophy classes.

Quad9Damage - 2007-12-02

This whole thing about one-starring every video is getting old.

And you're a troll.

tamago - 2007-11-15

You just wanted to one star it because it's anime, and not on its own merits. Just admit it already.

Also, nice job on judging a movie before you even see it. For the record, it bears more in common with Dreamscape than The Matrix, if you are wishing to make comparisons to older movies.

And anime or not, it's a pretty cool movie.

tamago - 2007-11-15

Forgot to add, a lot of the movie is commentary on Japanese society and trends, so the robot makes contextual sense here.

But I can see how you would miss that in your zeal to give anything having to do with anime one star, regardless of whether it deserved it or not.

tamago - 2007-11-15

Damn it, I could have sworn I hit reply in regard's to theSnake's comment. Anyway, those two comments I made were aimed toward him.

Quad9Damage - 2007-12-03

From what I've seen, he gives nearly everything one star, based solely on the source and not context.

Aernaroth2 - 2007-11-15

Oh Japan, u so crazy.

Herr Matthias - 2007-11-15

Adding my voice to the "see it even if you hate anime with a passion" crowd

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2007-11-16

This looks good. I stopped looking forward to anything anime when I realized what anime did to most of its fans, but ooooh pretty

Xenocide - 2007-11-16

Satoshi Kon is one of the best directors out there right now. Not just of anime, either.

Princess v2.1 - 2007-11-16

Looks cool

Jimmy Labatt - 2007-11-17

Looks great to me, but I'm waiting for Caminante to sound off on this. Isn't animé his turf, or something?

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-08-26

Watch Paprika instead of Inception, Paprika is a much better film about dreams.

Quad9Damage - 2007-12-02

OK, I have to see this movie. Right now. It looks awesome.

Quad9Damage - 2007-12-09

And now I've seen it. It was great stuff, every bit as good as the trailer made it out to be. It was the first Satoshi Kon flick I'd ever watched, so I'll have to check out the other stuff on his resume.

Caminante Nocturno - 2010-08-26

No matter how many times I watch this movie, I still learn something new about it.
