All of what he says is true. And he didn't even touch upon the crap final boss that makes the games vaunted originality seem like a joke. And still Bioshock remains one of the best games of the year.
I have no idea how this guy got the impression that the clearly gas-powered machines in Bioshock are "steam powered". They even do some hand-waving about how Ryan was the world's smartest electrical engineer to justify the way the machines work.
So, in a game that is set in underwater city (built in the 1940s no less) that is powered by the earth's core, populated by mutants, contains door locks that can recognize a person's DNA and booths that create an instantaneous clone of your character when you die the one aspect of technology he chose to nitpick over was the automated gun turrets.
Sure Bioshock was fun, but it had the gall to assume my character knew how to fire a shotgun without first gathering 10 million super hi tech upgrades.
