Actually, not the entire film. I screwed up, and have asked Chet to remove this so I can resubmit correctly. Sorry.

Never mind, I figured out how to fix this.

Still there, embedding's just disabled.

A good movie. I had it on LD.

Xenocide - 2007-09-11

Not only a great anime movie, but one of the great unappreciated films of the 1980's.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2007-09-12

Agreed. I love the mystery of the time dilation in this. Really neat series of sequences at the end, too, it's layered and all in the writing. Most anime could learn from this.

Unmerciful Crushing Force - 2007-09-12

My favorite part of this whole movie is how Oshii manages to work his obsessions with Christianity and Hitler into a cute little imp critter.

And to think Rumiko Takahashi initially rejected the script to this.

She would later go on to create Inu Yasha.

Oshii needs to take a long, long vacation away from Shirow and start making movies like this again.

As Xenocide said, this is a great, underappreciated film, anime or otherwise. It really captured the nature of dream-reality for me, and the characters are sympathetic and human as well as cartoony goofballs. Few other directors can really nail that.
