She's a country singer? How come she sounds like Bjork?
She sang "The Star Spangled Banner" by Francis Scott Key., the national anthem of of the United States of America, so, as far as I know, the title is probably accurate.
The melody is said to come from "A Spanish Drinking Song", which is how I know that Spanish people are serious drinkers.
I gotta be honest: anybody who helps discredit this stupid tradition we have of singing the American national anthem before sporting events gets 2 thumbs up from me. It's a dumb tradition not only on its face, but also because of the rank hypocrisy of singing a song about freedom written by a goddamn slave holder.
Also, the title of the video is "Ingrid Andress sings the worst national anthem ever at the Home Run Derby 2024". Really? The worst? Have we already forgotten when Roseanne Barr literally just screeched into the microphone?
The religious fervor for the anthem as some sacrosanct event is even more disgusting when married to a goddamn sport game. We mentioned it here before, but it only remotely makes sense when done at an international event.
All legitimacy for what the anthem stands for should have gone out the window when it was used to shut up protesting blacks.
It's also really just an ugly song that should be replaced. Not even nazi Germany and North Korea glorified war in their anthems.
