I'm a middle-aged person and I predate the internet. I'm not on reddit, or facebook or tiktok or digg or whathaveyou. Basically I don't see fuckall that is trending unless it shows up here or Mrs Vohaul shows it to me.
Yogar, you said it yourself: the freaks and the diggers have mostly moved on, but I personally still love the stuff that finds it way here. Sure it's not the atrocity tourism it once was but that is in some ways the fault of the internet, there's a whole generation of people that have grown up with it and they are hyper-aware of what it is. This place literally cannot be what it was in late aughts. Gone are the days of hapless twits unaware that they're on camera. Shit, now they do it on purpose!
This is still a fine place to hang out and I don't care if something has a zillion views already because I can guarantee you my psuedo elderly ass hasn't seen it before.
TLDR I like most of what continues to show up here and I saw a Heathcliff DVD this weekend and I thought of yogarfield.
I think it also has a lot to do with how censored the internet has become. It's actually pretty hard to find e.g., gangstalking videos because youtube deletes stuff and hides it with tweaks to The Algorithm.
Honestly, one of the reasons I love this site is that it's one of the last vestiges of non-algorithmically curated content.
