They were building this show up for months before they released it, running a series of overly dramatic and enigmatic ads until they let slip what it was and disappointed everyone wondering what it was. Then, it premiered with this opening, and the actual show disappointed everyone again. I think they eventually did away with the ugly CG effects in the last season when they systematically killed off every recurring villain.

I mean, it had it's problems, but it will always considered a milestone in the history of animation

The Good Part: Using CGI and imaginitive writing!
The Bad Part: Going seriously over-budget and destorying the Hanna-Barbara company!

You consider destroying Hanna-Barbera to be a bad thing?

Pandatronic - 2007-07-09

God yes, this theme is epic.

I really liked this show as a kid, but the Venture Brothers ispretty much everything this show was and more.

Yellow Lantern - 2007-07-09

That shot of Jessie throwing her hair back always struck me as unnecessarily titillating.

Spit Spingola - 2007-07-10

This show is bullshit and I hate it.

I liked this show as a kid, and the theme song is still great. The opening is pretty boring, though. Eh, 5 just for the memories.

holy shit, I had completely forgotten about this. I wonder what other random TV things are squirrelled in my brain.

This show was far from perfect, but I give it credit for making Race's daughter more badass than Race himself, and way tougher than Johnny, when it looked like she was being added to the cast to give them a weekly hostage to save.

Never forget the episode where some guy breaks into their house. Johnny corners him, pulls a gun on him, but his hand shakes and he drops it, saying "I'm just not comfortable with guns." The bad guy laughs, but a second later Jessie picks up the gun and puts the barrel to his head, saying "Too bad for you: I am."
