no matter how deep this corruption scandal goes, nothing will be done to remove Thomas from the bench because a conservative SCOTUS enables Democrats to continue to play the "we want to do what is necessary but are obstructed" game for decades to come. just make sure to keep donating and voting for them!

Saw this on TV. I had to keep looking away now and then, to keep from vomiting.

Justice Thomas genuinely believes money is free speech and there's nothing wrong with rich assholes pouring money into the government to get their way.

Therefore, in his own mind, he's not being hypocritical when he lets a rich asshole shower him with money for the opportunity to sway his decisions.

He also hates Affirmative Action because he believes racist assholes don't respect him because Affirmative Action helped him get where he is. Like, if there had been no Affirmative Action and he got where he was purely on his own hard work and merits, the racist assholes would have to show him respect.

But racist assholes never respect Black people, no matter how deserving those Black people are of respect, because they are racist assholes and hating all Black people is their thing.

But in his own mind, Thomas feels he would be doing other Black people a favor if he got rid of Affirmative Action. Never mind the fact racist assholes would have denied him every opportunity to advance, regardless of how hard he worked or how good he was.

I feel ghoulish waiting for people to drop dead of old age or health problems, but when there's no other way to get them out of lifetime positions they've been appointed to by autocrats, there's no other option.

Also, I guarantee you, the first government official to declare the SCOTUS "illegitimate" and disregard one of its decisions will be a Republican.

And they will do so to justify violating the civil rights of an oppressed group.
