I always wondered what kind of person could work for FOX news and live with themselves.

Rafiki - 2007-07-03

You mean if you egg people on they might get upset and ask you to leave? HEAVENS!

I hate FOX, but I'm not seeing the outrage. Partly because the only news related item I could see in the video was the NBC peacock on the van. Partly because we seem to be playing a bit loose with the word "attack" here. And partly because what the news guy said amounted to, "We were sent here to film something else not related to you and you're ruining the shot. Go away." I don't see why that's insane and unreasonable, as if they're supposed to say, "Let's completely change what we're doing here. You, random stranger in a silly costume, let's have an impromptu interview."

Agree pretty much. Also, do you know how expensive it is to shoot on the sidewalk of NYC? Does this puppet man realize this guy can lose his job? Do you think he enjoys telling guys to fuck off?

I would love to feed the people of Louisiana but, as he said, bothering a working guy is not going to put food in peoples' mouths. I would have liked to hear the mascot say, "Oh, sorry. Where can I stand that won't be in your shot?" like any polite person that understands how intense it is being responsible for a set. Instead we cut into the clip with "I CAN'T SHOOT LIVE WITH YOUR BIG HEAD IN THE SHOT."

That looked like an NBC logo on the van to me, not Fox

minimalist - 2007-07-03

fuck, beaten

boner - 2007-07-03

I just like the absurdity of the situation.

Knuckles - 2007-07-03

This wasn't Fox, it was G4. Attack of the Show, specifically. If you saw the broadcast, the orange Hungrr dude was in the background. Just in the background. A casual viewer would not have been able to see the point of his presence or understand that he was working for a specific cause.

The cops were a little dickish, but it's perfectly reasonable for the crew to be upset about someone ruining their story, especially when there was no benefit for the good Mr. Hungrr's cause. He was out of line and was perfectly deserving of the verbal "attack" he received.

boba. - 2007-07-03

i don't know why you're all going on about them OBVIOUSLY manipulating the situation and video, this is clearly lame stunt to get attention to their video and auction

quantumcreep - 2008-09-19

The mascot's expression makes this entire thing.

But if this was for G4, who really gives a rat's ass? I mean, yeah, they have a few viewers, but it's not like the mascot was blocking their camera, just the background. One way to resolve this would be to have given him a thirty second interview. Any t.v. station would do this.
And that would have been a much better story than "Look at all these people buying cellphones! THAT'S CRRRRRAZY!"

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2007-07-04

2 stars because I didn't actually get to see an attack.

Xenocide - 2007-07-04

You're just making your very worthy cause look bad, Hungrr. Go back to giving away buttons. Three stars for interesting video, -2 for lack of an actual attack.

futurebot - 2007-07-05

Maybe the mascot was being a dick, but the cops had absolutely no right to force him to leave public property. If NBC wants to dictate who can stand where, they can rent the space from the city or film somewhere else.

Blaise - 2007-11-09

Fuck the news segment producers. They seem to think that the general public has a responsibility to help them setup their segments. If these guys want to frame their shots they should either get a permit and rent the street, or just deal.

Fucking babies.

Blaise - 2007-11-09

Yeah I'm a hater I guess.

Did the news people ask the folks in line if they wanted to be on the news?

No, they don't have to as its a public street.

Therefore deal with the public.
