Agreed: this is Republicans delivering on a long-term goal that their voters want, and it's Democrats choosing not to protect a right that is supposedly fundamental to their identity as a political party for cynical fundraising reasons.

I think it's going to be bad for them in the short term. We'll see about the long therm. Republican overreach is the Dem's major selling point, so it could be good for them. I'm not sure how much "vote for us to stop this thing" and then not stopping the thing voters will put up with though.

The conflicts were amusing, not miserable. We had the likes of Billly Buttsex in here. We had the Naruto guy, with his hard-on for the police and pedophilic tendencies, who kept getting banned, making new accounts, and then making it painfully obvious it was the same dude. We had Slagathor. The Web 1.0 POE community was an island paradise. Now it's divided and bitter like everywhere else.
