Kurt Vonnegut Jr's brother-in-law sank all his money into a similar product called "Putty Puss."

It failed to catch on, draining the family bank account and plunging him deep into debt.

He ended up dying in an accident.

Then his wife, Vonnegut's sister, died of cancer leaving 4 children, one still an infant, orphaned.

Vonnegut and his first wife adopted the 3 older kids and the baby was taken in by another relative.

The music is so creepy and disjunctive. How did anyone think this was a good way to sell a toy that was already deep in the uncanny valley?
