When was the last time goth was a thing? I thought it completely died out at least 10 years ago.
All "outcast" cliques just kind of merged with the rise of social media that they're all now mixed hybrids of drama club, nerds, and emo goths.
Kinda like humanity eventually becoming a uniform mixed race in Forever War.

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2021-10-01 Weirdly enough, despite the fact that you can talk about its musical lineage, I'm thinking that "Goth" might have been just a modern manifestation for the sort of brooding, dramatic, death-obsessed teenagers that have existed since forever.
I also sort of suspected that the clothes and the scene and the lifestyle mattered more to a lot of Goths than the music, which, quite frankly, goes from "okay" to "unbelievably hokey," if I'm the one being asked. I always thought that that crowd just needed a soundtrack for S and M or absinthe drinking or whatever, and goth rock pretty much fit the bill.

radiosquido - 2021-10-02 "Seems," madam? Nay, it is; I know not "seems."
'Tis not alone my inky cloak, good mother,
Nor customary suits of solemn black,
Nor windy suspiration of forced breath,
No, nor the fruitful river in the eye,
Nor the dejected 'havior of the visage,
Together with all forms, moods, shapes of grief,
That can denote me truly: these indeed seem,
For they are actions that a man might play:
But I have that within which passeth show;
These but the trappings and the suits of woe.

I'm a crypto-goth.. There is nothing in my appearance, behaviour, or thoughts to indicate that I am one. But yet I am.
