80s Toyota trucks were INDESTRUCTIBLE.

I have a 1995 Pickup, the last ones made before the Tacoma was brought out. It's an automatic transmission, which loses me some street cred but that's ok. It had the mid-level "DX" trim package, so I have AC and a digital clock. Rear-wheel-drive only, 4 cylinder inline engine.
I'm pretty happy with it. I hope to have this car around until our society outgrows its dependence on such devices.

The Mothership - 2020-11-02 hang onto that man, it was built to last. Just keep changing the oil and look after the tranny.

jfcaron_ca - 2020-11-03 Yep, I've put in a bunch of repairs already - alternator, power steering gearbox and pump, some kind of tie-rod. I'm getting that underbody rustproofing stuff done, but I barely drive it in winter anyways. I tell the mechanics "I don't need showroom condition but I want this truck to still work in 20 years".
