"And remember, try to keep an open mind."

Fauci joked that on SNL, he should be played by Brad Pitt, and luckily, Brad Pitt was available.

I feel like the MAGAGAs are going to have a problem with this.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-26

One starred by Crackersmack, who wants to be your own personal chocolate jesus.

Hazelnut - 2020-04-26

To Crackersmack and any other Trump supporter (whether outright or pretending to be a Bernie bro):

Don’t drink bleach. Don’t inject detergent.

We like to joke around here but I’m not kidding. Don’t drink it. It won’t be hilarious satire. You will not be ‘owning’ me. No one outside 4chan will applaud your authenticity.

Instead you’ll go straight to the emergency room. Either you’ll be crippled for life by a destroyed esophagus and stomach (and American medical bills) or you will die.

I can’t emphasise this enough. Don’t drink it. You already drank the Kool Aid and that’s bad for the world, but for your own personal life drinking bleach is even worse.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-26

Hazlenut, stop trying to get crackersmack to drink bleach!

Hazelnut - 2020-04-27

You too, Ashtar. Don’t drink it. Every mature person was once an immature person; there’s a possible future where you grow into an awesome and happy human being, but not if you cut your future short by drinking bleach.

ashtar. - 2020-04-27

Drumpf cancelled! Surely the millionth iteration of the covfefe news cycle will be the end of cheeto voldemort!

Meanwhile the democrats and Biden have yet to articulate how they would respond to the crisis in any significant way. Nationwide lockdown? UBI? Universal health care? Taking advantage of interest rates to invest trillions in renewable energy and green infrastructure jobs? Nationalize big pharma? Lol no let's tweak McConnell's corporate and bank slush fund bills impotently and then recess indefinitely.

IDK I guess it would be cool if there was a functional opposition party in the US that could, like, give people concrete reasons to vote for them? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hazelnut - 2020-04-27

When I say "Don't drink bleach" you don't get to say "Okay what cleaning fluid SHOULD I drink?" Not drinking bleach IS the alternative. Not having a fascist President IS the idea.

Mr Biden has a lot of other ideas too, most (not all) of which I support. You can read about them at https://joebiden.com/joes-vision/

Or you can keep pretending to be a Bernie bro driven into the arms of Trump. It's pretty funny I guess, and isn't fooling anybody.

ashtar. - 2020-04-27

JHM is wrong about stuff but at least he engages in good faith. You're just a blue hat MAGA yelling GEORGE SOROS PAID PROTESTER and calling people names.

Hazelnut - 2020-04-27

I'm engaging. You asked for Biden's proposals, I sent you a link. You tell lies (such as that he doesn't have any), I offer facts. This is very simple. I also ridicule the nonsense you proffer that is frankly ridiculous.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-27

>>>Drumpf cancelled! Surely the millionth iteration of the covfefe news cycle will be the end of cheeto voldemort!

Are you upset? You seem upset.

>>>Meanwhile the democrats and Biden have yet to articulate how they would respond to the crisis in any significant way.

Really? You're doing this now? Okay.

If Trump was doing a good job managing the crisis, getting in his way would be unpatriotic.

Since Trump is clearly melting down, getting in his way would be idiotic. To a lesser extent, that applies to McConnell.

I assume that the pandemic will be mentioned in the fall, but right now I assume they're all sitting around in front of their fancy refigerators discussing with the same weird sense of horror mixed with hope that i'm certainly feeling right now.

No one 's campaigning right now because..... DUH!

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-27

You have to click through some fundraising and some graphic nonsense to get to it, but supposedly this is Biden's Plan. I haven't read this, but I'll try to read it now.

https://joebiden.com/covid19/

I was going to paste the text into here, but I decided to paste it into a word processor first, and it's 28 pages long. At 6966 words, it's a little less than half a Macbeth.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-27

I'll be honest . Sometimes Hazelnut's enthusiasm for Biden is a little... he takes it farther than I ever could, but in April of the year of our lord 2020, I'm not about to step on anyone's positivity.

And Hazelnut almost definitely won this point, assuming that this text, which I have not yet read, is actually about COVID-19, and isn't, for example, the first two acts of Macbeth.

In the Seventies, SNL was new. Now it's not, because that's how time works. But it's changed a lot more than complaining about SNL, which got old a lot faster. Bitching about SNL started around 1976, when Chevy Chase left to persue his movie career.

In the 21st Century, SNL has a new life, thanks to the internet. No one actually stays home to watch SNL on Saturday Night anymore, I haven't in years, but now I watch it when I'm in the mood on Hulu. When John Mulaney hosted, I watched that episiode over and over. Never got to the end of the one with Halsey.

Most of all, SNL has found a new life in being passed around the internet in the form of clips. It's part of our national conversation. This clip, which was uploaded Sunday morning, has been viewed 10,398,762 times on Monday afternoon.

Hazelnut - 2020-04-27

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m much more passionate about who Biden is NOT than who he is. He might not be fine wine, but he isn’t bleach.

Still, I di think he’s not a bad bloke for a politician. The ‘tried his whole life to destroy Social Security, when he wasn’t abusing minors’ schtick is just silly.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-27

Oh, don’t get me wrong, I’m much more passionate about who Biden is NOT than who he is. He might not be fine wine, but he isn’t bleach.

Oh, Bravo, sir!*

*I always assume everyone is male, partly out of hard-wired boomer sexism, but also because if I was a woman on the internet, I'd probably keep it a secret. I'm sure I'm wrong sometimes, and can always be correct me if you want. Just something I feel the need to say from time to time.

Binro the Heretic - 2020-04-26

ha ha, from "I'm not pro-Trump I'm just anti-Biden" to 1 starring any and all criticism against Trump.

How much does the Cato Institute pay for that on a tiny site like this? I'm asking because I could really use a paying gig right now.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-28

I like SNL, but just remember this:

NBC ran "The Apprentice" for FOURTEEN YEARS, because it was cheap to produce, and got big ratings. That's a big big part of this shitshow. FOURTEEN YEARS on NBC Prime Time about what a business genius Donald Trump is.

bongoprophet - 2020-04-28

Hey, I've been away for a while. Have you all turned into Biden apologists while I was gone? All the best!

//bongo

SolRo - 2020-04-28

I aint apologizing for shit.

I'm come election day I don't care if biden rapes tarah reade live on camera, I'm voting for him to replace the dangerous utter fucking idiot that is trump.

Crackersmack - 2020-04-28

buncha classy individuals we have here

Hazelnut - 2020-04-28

Says the piece of shit to the antisemite.

SolRo - 2020-04-28

Can we just agree that both of your are idiots?

Hazelnut - 2020-04-28

Not hating people for their race or ethnicity isn’t idiocy. Nor is it a “pro-Israel talking point from Fox News,” as you put it earlier. Most of us would consider it a basic prerequisite of human decency.

I think deep down you know this and want to admit it, but that means confronting some genuinely toxic issues in your own character.

You won’t believe me, but I’m telling you this mainly for your own good. I wish you luck growing up.

SolRo - 2020-04-28

I don’t constantly bring up your desire to murder all Palestinians.

Crackersmack - 2020-04-28

Sol; you are aware of Biden's position on the apartheid is Israel, right? But you still support him.

SolRo - 2020-04-28

I’m aware that trump is willing to go full hazelnut and murder every single Palestinian man woman and child if it gets him some of that sweet APAC cash and a couple points in Florida.

There’s literally no position that trump is not a worse choice than Biden, unless you’re shilling for billionaire tax cuts

Hazelnut - 2020-04-28

SolRo, you don't get to deflect from your racism by pretending I'm anti-Palistine. I'm not! I support a two state solution, I detest Netanyahu and his grotesque government, I applaud the Palestinian longing for freedom in their own homeland and want to see the US support a genuine peace process, as no President has done in at least 20 years.

I just don't use that as a cheap excuse for anti-Jewish hatred, which you do. Repeatedly. And you know it.

SolRo - 2020-04-28

All I know is your undying hatred of Arabs. It disturbs me.

Crackersmack - 2020-04-28

Trump and the Republicans get *lots* of AIPAC cash in the form of superpac spending. So do the Democrats. That's why both parties have identical pro-apartheid policy. It's bizarre to pretend one is better than the other on this topic especially.

SolRo - 2020-04-28

It’s nowhere near identical.

Trump is literally telling Israel annex whatever they want and commit ethnic cleansing.

Trump has singlehandedly likely destroyed any chance of a future peace deal

Hazelnut - 2020-04-28

> All I know is your undying hatred of Arabs.

Fuck you dude. You know that’s not remotely true. Find one case where I ever, EVER said anything negative about Arabs. It so happens I’m a big fan of Arab and Muslim culture. Hell, I give to a UK charity that looks after refugees who mostly vome from the Arab world.

Do you really think that infantile Crackersmack-esque knee-jerk response justifies any of your behaviour towards Jews. Is this really the person you want to be? When you take a real look at yourself, are you satisfied with that?

Hazelnut - 2020-04-28

SolRo, at times I have seen you be thoughtful. I am talking to you man to man. You have a choice. Today you chose to still be a racist twat. But you can always make a difference choice.

Nominal - 2020-04-28

The shittiest poeTV poster hall of famers are all really coming out of retirement in full force to support Trump.

When can we expect nocash, Purple XIII, chocolate jesus, and chaos owl to join in?

Bort - 2020-04-29

Hey Hazelnut you intellectually dishonest fuck, I happened to revisit this Janice Dickinson video while discussing Tara Reade elsewhere:

https://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=141082

Just wanted to point out that 1) you've had an idiot's axe to grind against SolRo for years, and 2) you were taking Cosby's side while SolRo was reasonable enough to believe the accusers. You even accused SolRo of racist motives for believing all those women over the nice successful comedian.

You can be almost as proud of that as you are of your love for Ilhan Omar, who unlike SolRo actually IS an anti-Semite.

Hazelnut - 2020-04-29

Hey Bort, here’s the thing about that thread from 2014: I was WRONG. Let me clearly loudly admit that I was completely wrong about Bill Cosby, and in the six years since then I’ve tried to grow and learn from my error. One big thing I learned is believing accusations from multiple credible witnesses instead of lazily saying ‘jury trial’. (Of course I still believe in trial by jury but you know what I mean.)

Now when is SolRo going to admit he was wrong to call for Jews to be expelled to an island, to excuse the abuse and death threats against Jews in the UK, to peddle neo-Nazi conspiracy theories about George Soros? Are you going to defend that? If you’re not, don’t preach to me about intellectual honesty.

Crackersmack - 2020-04-29

I look forward to the thread in 2026 where you admit to being wrong for supporting Biden.

Hazelnut - 2020-04-29

Crackersmack and SolRo think admitting a mistake is a weakness.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-29

>>>>Yeah, no one’s impressed by random name calling. When JHM calls you a piece of shit, that carries serious weight because he doesn’t do that lightly. I would be devastated if he called me that because it reflects his real considered thinking. You should be too.

You shouldn't. You really shouldn't.

And though I said I wasn't angry when I called crackersmack a piece of shit, that was a lie. I was angry. Calling someone who isn't a public figure or a bully a piece of shit is over the line for me, so I take it back. I doubt if I hurt crackersmack's feelings, but at that moment I wanted to hurt his feelings, and that is why I also apologize to crackersmack.

I don't want to become a mean old man. If I start getting mean, someone please tell me.

MAYBE it's true that I would ban crackersmack if I could... but maybe that wouldn't be the right choice. POE has always been what it is. You can post almost anything. Nothing is ever deleted. Those aren't my rules, but I think we've prospered under these rules. Since I first came to POE RED , circa 2004 I thnk we've matured as a community. I've always supported a moderstor's right to moderate, because it creates a diverse internet. If you can post anything you want anywhere, everyplace is the same. The rules for posting in my blog don''t have to be the same as the rules for posting in 4chan.

Yes, bro, I was mad.

crackersmack's trolling is aggravating as hell, but he can't keep it up forever. Barring an act of God, the poe administrators, or covid-19, I'll be here after he's gone, or after he's moved onto another troll.

Crackersmack - 2020-04-28

Hazelnut - 2020-04-28

Yeah, no one’s impressed by random name calling. When JHM calls you a piece of shit, that carries serious weight because he doesn’t do that lightly. I would be devastated if he called me that because it reflects his real considered thinking. You should be too.

Your words by contrast are entirely weightless.

Crackersmack - 2020-04-28

lol here you are responding to my entirely weightless words tho

Hazelnut - 2020-04-28

Of course. It's only on 4chan and junior high playgrounds that answering nonsense is some sign of weakness.

Crackersmack - 2020-04-28

Well I am appreciative of your strength in these trying times. Now tell me how much you don't care about a woman that was raped by Biden.

Hazelnut - 2020-04-28

The think about boasting about talking nonsense and then pretending to be outraged is it doesn’t work when you fo both at once.

Crackersmack - 2020-04-28

I'm not outraged, I expect neolibs to be giant hypocrites that are totally full of shit. You're very predictable.

Hazelnut - 2020-04-28

Congratulations, JHM is right about you. Your mother must be proud.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-29

>>>Well I am appreciative of your strength in these trying times. Now tell me how much you don't care about a woman that was raped by Biden.

Now tell me how much you care.

https://youtu.be/hLEG9QYyuUY

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-29

>>>>Now tell me how much you don't care about a woman that was raped by Biden.

I care less about an allegation from 27 years ago that can't be changed than I care about thousands of women forced in the future to have illegal abortions or have their lives derailed. And make no mistake, they'll also have less access to birth control. And less recourse after future sexual assaults.

And I care more about my responsibilities. If I was on a jury, and Joe Biden was the defendent, I would care more about Tara Reade. I'm not. I'm a 2020 voter.

And I support Tara Reade's rights. If she could prosecute Biden (she can't), or sue Biden (I have no idea), I'd support her.

I believe in respecting a woman's story, and I believe in the presumption of innocence. To put it more succinctly, the presumption of innocence cuts both ways. If Tara Reade can't prove Joe Biden raped her, that does not prove that she is lying. In all likelihood, the truth is unknowable. Thiis was my position on Cosby before there was a verdict.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-29

Here's a comment from 2014 and it's quite consistent with what I said today:

http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=141082

>>>John Holmes Motherfucker - 2014-12-22
>>>It doesn't look good for Cosby, but I think we're still in the realm of wait and see. We don't know, and we don't need to know. None of us in the passing-judgement-on-Bill-Cosby business. I think that some kind of truth is going to come out. There's going to be a civil trial or an investigation or something, and those among us who are interested in reality will agree on a conclusion.

>>>I believe in the presumption of innocence, but the presumption goes both ways.

I don't feel like a hypocrite.

Crackersmack - 2020-04-29

You care about abortion?

- Joe Biden supported the Hyde amendment until June 2019.

- Joe Biden tried to cut mandated coverage for abortion from the ACA.

- Joe Biden has said the following about Roe vs. Wade:
“I don’t like the Supreme Court decision on abortion. I think it went too far. I don’t think that a woman has the sole right to say what should happen to her body.”

I can site sources for all of these claims. Let's not pretend that support for Biden is anything noble when really it's just partisanship. There will be a lot of people that pretend to be horrified by Trump, but will vote for him anyway. That's what you are.

ashtar. - 2020-04-29

Biden should step down. Like, obviously? He's not even the official nominee yet.

Otherwise, this is the end of #metoo. Every time a powerful man is accused of sexual assault and people attempt to hold him accountable, he will bring up Joe Biden and say that people only care about sexual assault and abuse of power when it benefits their interests, that this is just a cynical political ploy. And he will be right.

Biden and his enablers are doing more damage than Trump. It's bad enough that one party has said that being a rapist isn't a disqualification for the highest office, now we have both of them say it? What a fucking disaster of a country.

Not to mention that there this is going dog an already weak, scandal-ridden candidate through the whole election. It seems impossible to lose against an unpopular president who just bungled the biggest disaster since Pearl Harbor, but the Democrats are trying really fucking hard to do just that.

He should step down. He should step down. He should step down.

Hazelnut - 2020-04-29

Repetitive, but not sincere.

Crackersmack - 2020-04-29

What's even more infuriating is that *the primary isn't even over*

We don't need to do this. This isn't 2016 when it was just Bernie vs Clinton. We can still nominate one of the other broadly popular candidates that isn't a rapist. We can still beat Trump. Hanging our heads and just walking off the edge of a cliff like it's inevitable is fucking batshit insane.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-29

I know what to do, guys! LETS PUT ON A SHOW!

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-29

>>>We can still nominate one of the other broadly popular candidates that isn't a rapist.

Okay, let's talk about this. I am open to this idea.

I'm going to try to find the Samantha Bee Video on superdelegates. And I'm going to submit it, even if it's a dupe.

I will support the nominee, but it's still not impossible the nominee will be someone other than Biden. It's extremely unlikely, but I'm not married to this guy.. You and I aren't going to decide this but we could talk about it.

Crackersmack - 2020-04-29

Anyone nominated by the superdelegates will rightfully be viewed as illegitimate. Choosing the candidate that way is forfeiting the general election.

The primary is still ongoing. Like 40% of the states still haven't voted. Why not have them vote by mail? If the party establishment had any commitment to winning the general election they'd be pressuring Biden to drop out.

Hazelnut - 2020-04-29

I can’t tell you how reassured I am that Asher & Cracker care so deeply about the intricacies of the primary ballot. They’ll both be happy to know I already voted absentee.

One day they’ll be old enough to vote too, but I expect they won’t.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-29

>>>If the party establishment had any commitment to winning the general election they'd be pressuring Biden to drop out.

Maybe they are. I mean, probably not, but maybe this scandal has some new relvelations to come, and if they were, they probably wouldn't do it in public.

>>>The primary is still ongoing. Like 40% of the states still haven't voted. Why not have them vote by mail?

Because all the candidates are dropped out. You can't unring that bell. Superdelegates are your one Hail Mary, and the Tara Reade scandal would have to blow up like the top floor of the Nakatomi building.

Crackersmack - 2020-04-29

You absolutely can un-ring that bell tho. We still have months before the convention. There is plenty of time.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-30

Time isn't the problem, it's delegates. Read it and weep.

https://tinyurl.com/suo33y5

Crackersmack - 2020-04-30

I'm not copy/pasting any link you post buddy, I wasn't born yesterday. Yes, clearly Biden would have to drop out and his delegates would have to be negated or re-assigned somehow. My point is that there is plenty of time and justification to do this, if defeating Trump is actually the goal.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2020-04-30

That's an old graph actually. This is more current.
