Would certainly have improved the ending.

I thought it was a pretty solid ending to a very inconsistent series! There were some memorable shots, good conversations between Jon & Tyrion, and everyone's wrap-up was... adequate, if uninspired. Most of all, it didn't descend into the outright sleaze that has always been my biggest problem with the show. If it was a bit dull, well, there are much worse things to be.

My only major problem was when Tyrion was taken, in chains, to be judged for his crimes, and within two minutes he instead convinced the high lords of the realm to permanently change their political system (to the benefit of no one present), elect some weirdo as king because "stories matter," and allow the North to leave the union because Sanda shottied independence I guess. That scene broke any sense of credibility; it was just blatent tidying up.

Other than that, not a bad ending.

The ending didn't bother me. It was the rushed, crappy path to the ending. If that's how it was going to end, they should have taken the extra seven seasons to flesh it out. They were given that chance. They refused.

extra seven EPISODES. wtf, self.

Is some of the text a bit too fast for ya'll? Either that or it* is finally happening.

*brainpan goin down the shitter.

Anaxagoras - 2019-05-23

No, that was my main criticism as well.

Other than that, though: good clip. Ghost's ending was absolutely perfect.

A shitton of the Northerners did die. It was like their WWII. How many families were left to just starve? I guess Bran probably knows that Sansa will come crawling back to him at some point.

Probably closer to the books are going to end.

I jumped on board this train just in time for the derailment and what a disaster it has been! I can understand the show runners wanting to jump ship after X amount of sessions but to arbitrarily end the show when the runs leave just reeks of egotism- It's like reading about the war of the roses and having every page after Richard III takes the throne ripped out.

Brienne of Tarth should have been made Queen but that's just me :P

I stopped watching after the ghost killed that guy in season 2 or 3. If we can just wraponize ghosts now with no conceivable countermeasures, that kind of ruins the logic of having any other form of conflict.

Maybe it made more sense in the book, like how the ghost army in LOTR is used as a Scooby Doo prank and not an invincible combat force.

Boomer The Dog - 2019-05-23

I'm glad that Ghost stayed a good boy, I'll go for that, I guess all of the other Dire wolves were killed.

I was worried that the clip wasn't going to even touch on the wolves.

Marlon Brawndo - 2019-05-25

Nymeria, Arya's direwolf, came back in season 7 very briefly, and rejected Arya. She was leading her own pack and had grown much larger than Ghost so maybe direwolves are like goldfish that way? I dunno.

All of the other direwolves died so I don't know what the fuck of the point of them ever was.

John Hughes ironically didn't direct Real Genius, the film that actually ended with this song.
