This store was around well before 1993, it just had different names; only later did Hot Topic consolidate these places. In 1980s Vancouver, Washington, it was called 'Spencer Gifts', in Vancouver Mall and also Clackamas Town Center (the other big suburban mall in the Portland, OR metro area).

In the 90s Clackamas Town Center definitely had a Hot Topic, and I think a Spencer's.
