It's amazing how progressively-cheezy and overwrought the sound design got throughout the original series, especially starting with Peter Davidson.

I don't think it got cheezy, but the Davidson/C.Baker era definitely tried to inject a poppy atmosphere. The McCoy one is my personal favorite. Don't like the new one, though...very overwrought.

That was pretty awesome! I really miss the goofy "phase in the actor's head" shot. That being said, I also really inordinately like the new version of the theme. It has a lot of bombast to it, which Who oughta have. Bombast!
