These were all over early Turner based basic cable.

I read this once, just to see what the fuss was about.

It was basically a ripoff of a lot of other self-help books, with just enough changed so as not to seem like plagiarism.

The volcano's not anywhere in the book. That's some Scientology/Xenu stuff. That came later.

Hubbard’s contributions are high-sounding gobbledygook terminology that must be mastered to proceed into his thought hole. It’s part of the brainwashing, you can only pass through the next steps once you’ve agreed to play by his rules. By that point you’ve sunk money into this, you’re getting love-bombed, and you probably are adopting common sense budgeting and mental note taking skills, which you don’t need Scientology for, but if you are playing along to this point they’ve got you. The next step is your Purification Rundown where you get your low-protein, chemically induced brain fog that makes you think you’re overcoming supernatural problems, and sure enough, you feel better after it because the niacin sickness was unlike any other illness you’ve had. Congratulations, you’re now in a cult, enjoy your stay.

That synth arpeggio really stayed with me, I never forgot it. For some reason, it came back to me with a jolt when I first heard Boards of Canada's BOC Maxima (Bocuma). The arpeggios are actually quite different, but the Boards of Canada was reaching for a sentiment and an aesthetic that related closely to the time and technology relayed by the Dianetics ad.
