So "casualcollapse" is not just a witty name?

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2018-08-15

Well, I'm not actually a bunch of sixth graders.

Gmork - 2018-08-15

I really am the emissary of the Nothing, however. I herald the beginning of the end.

oh I thought 'Miss Henson's 6th grade class' was actually hive mind :(

@Gmork - pfft, as if.

I have one brother that almost died from heroin, and I'd like to see him live to old age.

I have another brother who never met a drug he didn't like, including heroin. Drugs to him are like radiation is to cockroaches, which is to say the effects just seem to bounce right off. I don't know how he's still alive. Somehow being hooked on meth cured his alcoholism, strange as that is, and he was a horrible drunk for years but he became a raving lunatic on meth. He's lied for money, stolen from family, (and had weird justifications for things, like "I didn't STEAL it, I PAWNED it") prostituted himself, gone berserk at times and made strange threats, was a felon with a gun, got probation for violating probation that he got after he violated another probation for, get this --violating a previous probation. Original charges were driving without a license and distribution.

Then he fled he state.

Florida truly has the dumbest criminal justice system.

He ate a drug dealer's live frog for 5 dollars once. Someone he used to call his friend, was just making him do gross things for cheap entertainment, like a really low budget Fear Factor.

I have often wished the killing curse was real.

I mean I could go on. He blacked and beat up his girlfriend. He never apologized for it. They were together for 4 years. He insisted it he never did it, despite all the witnesses. He also beat up a sister and stole her money. I mean, just, I could write a book.

I came up with it before I had ever tried heroin but it is fitting... I have been clean for The Last 5 Years though so I'm doing alright

casualcollapse - 2018-08-15

@kingofnothing.. one of my younger brothers got really addicted to heroin.. I never got addicted I just OD'd a couple times because my tolerance was still low all that time. I was a good chipper, there has to be a genetic plus the way our parents raised us heavy Factor leading to addiction.. my Mom beating both of us didnt help very much..

kingofthenothing - 2018-08-15

"blacked out", bleh

Anaxagoras - 2018-08-17

I've been addicted to nicotene, and at one point I used a lot of meth, although I don't think I was really addicted. (I used it as a tool to get through university while holding down a full time job.)

Having said all that, although I can't speak to heroin, I do have experience with Percocet, which I used under medical supervision. Holy shit, that stuff can get its hooks into you like nothing else. It's not even that *good*, but when my prescription ran out I found myself balefully looking at the bottom of my empty pill bottle wishing there was just one more down there.

Fortunately, the pain I was managing was truly temporary, (I was recovering from surgery) and I stuck to doctor's orders & didn't get well & truly addicted. But man... I do *not* envy heroin addicts the fight they have ahead of them to get clean.
