The thing with Jim Jeffries is you wouldn't have to search through 10,000 of his bits to find something like this, this is pretty run of the mill for his comedy up until a few years ago maybe. I've heard people online complain about what a pussy he is now and how he sold out to get a comedy central paycheck. I can't blame him for that, although it does seem like he's done a complete 180.

He hasn’t done a complete 180. His general positions on issues have stayed consistent. He’s just not telling jokes about his sex life and drug habits because TV talk shows aren’t a good format for that. Those jokes mostly only work for stand up routines.

In a general way, just about every comedian in the world does adult material onstage and cleans up their act for television. Nothing strange about that.

I'd never seen this side of Jeffries before, and I'm impressed as hell. MGTOWS, INCELS, GHOSTBROS and so on who no doubt see something anti-feminist in this don't get the irony. I don't like to throw around terms like TOXIC MASCULINITY , but this guy is casting himself as the toxic male, and the resulting comedy is honest, courageous, and revealing take on The Male Question.

I don't know if he's doing it consciously, or if it's part of his evolution, or whatever, but I love it.

Needless to say, they were screamingly upset. I guess this is their transparent attempt at payback.)

Comicsgate most serious crime is thinking 90s X-men and Rob Liefeld were the pinnacle of Marvel comics.

I once remember reading something about how Al Franken was a hypocrite because of NO SHIT something he said at Harvard in the seventies. These alt right conservative internet kids, the passion and conviction they'll put into a transparently pathetic argument is almost admirable. No matter what the topic, or wherever things go, they'll continue to sustain this shriek of feigned
moral outrage.

When I was in 9th grade, back in the Year of Our Lord nineteen hundred and none of your business, I went on a trip to New York with the drama club to see a matinee of Jesus Christ Superstar. I bought one souvenir. It was a "funny" button that said "AVOID RAPE! SAY YES!", which not long afterward became a semi-popular bumper sticker. Now THAT is a horrible rape joke. A few years later, I read that an incredibly stupid local newsman somewhere got into trouble for quoting that line on the air, right after a story about a five year old girl being raped and murdered. That's so incredibly horrible, I question that it really happened, but I absolutely did read it in a newspaper column once.

So, yes, dick move, fourteen year old me, but not every joke containing the word "rape" is as bad as every other joke containing the word "rape". I think you can make jokes about rape, the same way you can make jokes about murder. There's room for subjectivity here, so I'm not going to spend a lot of time breaking it down. But for me, the most offensive slurs are directed against an individual. What Daniel Tosh did was make a joke about an individual woman being raped the woman in the presense of the woman and a roomful of strangers. That's incredibly fucked up.*

*HOWEVER I'm going to put an asterisk next to Daniel Tosh. Back when the Michael Richards fiasco happened (We all remember that, right? He used the N word, and worse, against a heckler) I read an essay by a black man who had been a standup comic, in Richard's defense. I can't quote it, but it had the effect of making me willing to forgive comics, even Daniel Tosh, for almost any horrible thing they might say while being heckled. Not because heckling a comedian is such a bad thing to do (it is), but because the situation is so volitile. You're backing an adrenaline-charged human being into a corner. He has to react immediately, and he has to go for the throat. Yeah, Daniel Tosh sucks, but if you heckle a comedian onstage, you're asking for it, and you deserve whatever you get.

The reason why I do that so often, by the way, is because I go on for so long. I usually forget if I'm replying to someone or not. Believe me, however long you think this took me to write, it actually took longer.
