Even better: This same guy was trying to get a public bike path built that would coincidentally make it easier for him to bike from his home to a nearby beach. He got a bunch of signatures on a petition. A neighbor who was opposed to the bike path asked for access to the petition which he was entitled to by law.

The neighbor found out the guy had signed about 13 pages' worth of fake signatures himself using addresses of CVS pharmacies he'd worked at as the home addresses.

Chancho - 2018-07-15

He's going to have a lot of free time soon so he can spend more time at the beach.

Adjuvant - 2018-07-15

He was also an Illinois state delegate for Trump in 2016.

jfcaron_ca - 2018-07-15

I'm all for bike paths, especially to nice public goods too-often ruined by parking and traffic like beaches. This sounds like the wrong way to go about it, real signatures aren't too hard to get.

Old_Zircon - 2018-07-15

I've got mixed feelings on bike paths. They've been tearing down a lot of undeveloped woodlands outside of town that locals have been visiting for generations, to put in bike paths so yuppies from wealthier neighboring communities can ride their bikes through; the people who actually live there are usually not the ones lobbying for or using the paths.

One of the most outspoken advocates of bike paths in my state is James fucking Woods.

So yeah, I've got mixed feelings.

Binro the Heretic - 2018-07-15

I'm afraid to check. Is James Woods still batshit crazy?

jfcaron_ca - 2018-07-15

I've never seen a bike path where there wasn't already motor vehicle access. Even if you have to clear a new path, if it displaces motor trips, I'm all for it.

I agree that too many of them are paved, reasonable bicycles (i.e. not ones made for road racing) can run fine on dry dirt or gravel. Unmaintained pavement is often worse than dirt.

Old_Zircon - 2018-07-15

Nah, this is like miles of paved path cleared through forest, the particular one I'm thinking of.

James Woods was all about Trump in February

https://www.thewrap.com/james-woods-calls-on-trump-to-unleash- the-dogs-of-war/

But then in March the spending bill passed so Trump was no longer far enough right for him.

https://www.breitbart.com/big-hollywood/2018/03/23/actor-james -woods-blasts-trump-congressional-rino-wimps-omnibus-budget/

Old_Zircon - 2018-07-15

As far as bike paths, it depends on context to me.

Gypsy_Dildo_Factory - 2018-07-16

I like to hang around bike paths at dusk smoking cigarettes and leaning against a tree. Sometimes a biker comes into sight from far away and I start waving my arms around strangely. Then they stop and decide to turn around. Sometimes people with dogs pretend to be on their phone walking past, and then they might not walk their dog there anymore at that time. These busybodies will call the cops to just say someone is hanging around in the woods but cops don't want to have to come out there if they can't drive all the way, they have no element of surprise either unless you're unconscious. As a child I used to throw random articles clothing on jogging paths to look fucked up and even hypodermic gear and condoms I took from a drawer when the doctor left the room for the moment. It would be boss to drag old mattresses out there.

SolRo - 2018-07-16

oookay...

Gypsy_Dildo_Factory - 2018-07-16

You see I'm a creep who gets off dissuading people from using recreational paths.

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2018-07-18

Yeah, James Woods recently tweeted a deranged insult about Hilary Clinton, calling her a drunken hag or something almost as witty, and some conservative site published a story about how great that was. Or was it a liberal site being sarcastic? I don't know, but as a fan, I'm hoping he'll get to do a sequel to the last thing I saw him in that wasn't a Family Guy cameo, which would be that TV movie he did 30 years ago, in which he played Bill W.,

Chancho - 2018-07-15

What's a coupon?

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2018-07-15

It's a bit of paper that saves you a soupçon of money.

Xenocide - 2018-07-16

It's like a groupon, but you get FIVE CENTS OFF WAX PAPER. *gasps*

infinite zest - 2018-07-16

Jeez dude, where were you when we were all forced to watch this:

SolRo - 2018-07-15

taking bets!

hand shaking due to fear or rage?

Old_Zircon - 2018-07-15

White people on Youtube are claiming he has parkinsons (he doesn't).

exy - 2018-07-16

He presumably just realized that he was in the middle of a BBQ Betty moment, but he didn't want to look like a wuss and cancel out or nothin'.

casualcollapse - 2018-07-16

I wanted to comment about his hand shaking but I'll guess I'll take the second ringer comment in saying that his hands were shaking due to racist rage

Xenocide - 2018-07-16

Racists spend their entire lives dreading the moment when a black person says something to them, so when their nightmare becomes reality, a lot of them fall to pieces.

chumbucket - 2018-07-16

I like Xeno's diagnosis.

Old_Zircon - 2018-07-16

Yeah, I think he was at the tail end of a full blown panic attack because a black lady confronted him and he's had a lifetime of conditioning to be afraid of that.

gmol - 2018-07-16

Super confused, I don't see any context at all here. The same section of video repeats 3 times.

casualcollapse - 2018-07-16

FOR EXTRA BEEFY RACISM IMPACT

Love & Vomit - 2018-07-16

It was a 3-for-1 coupon.

crojo - 2018-07-16

Where we're going we don't need context.

exy - 2018-07-17

***** for L&V

Marlon Brawndo - 2018-07-16

Next up, CVS closes its stores for Racial Sensitivity Day??

Gypsy_Dildo_Factory - 2018-07-16

It's like an art installation. The paths linking rails-to-trails to housing developments with boardwalks and railings all along.
Juxtaposed with a common sort of experience like when you notice the beginning of some possible shortcut or alternative route through the woods. You were actually walking along a road to get somewhere. Venturing, exploring like a real human! There is evidence of degenerate recreational activity, evidence of destitute humanity everywhere. It would offend an upper middle class know-nothing. The kind of people who are scared to be in a neighborhood they heard was bad, or ride public transportation.. It is still a good path from the turnpike to the loading docks behind the supermarket etc. You understand. I've been up all night. Traveling.

Gypsy_Dildo_Factory - 2018-07-16

^^^^Oh f*ck me, that was a reply for the 1st thread under Binro. I wish I never started typing here.

While I'm here instead of sleeping let me type more and have it be insight to the video in question.
I think it's rather obviously shown out of context to foment people's stupid cheap righteous indignation. And I've seen people shake like that from an adrenaline release, and it's uncontrollable once it starts. He's not terrified. A roommate I had came out of his bedroom shaking like that, as if he had just been in a fight, but he'd just been watching TV. Something related to old football concussions and taking prescription testosterone and weird stuff. That lady said herself she'd been following him around (filming him?) and he was trying to get away from her.

The petitioning thing is interesting. People know this guy from around. Used to work for Walgreens once, too. I searched the youtube comments for the word petition. Didn't get to the Trump thing, not yet at least. This schmuck doesn't need to be doxxed. The lady should take a picture of the so-called "voucher" he said as illegitimate.

Old_Zircon - 2018-07-16

You mean another one besides the one she posted with the video?

https://tinyurl.com/ycjnvqem

garcet71283 - 2018-07-17

Im enjoying GDF’s public self destruction.

Gypsy_Dildo_Factory - 2018-07-18

What you are enjoying is the magnitude of self-frustration comically expressed in qualities such as word count and inability to reply correctly to his own posts.

Gypsy_Dildo_Factory - 2018-07-16

*was illegitimate

TeenerTot - 2018-07-16

What is happening to us? I mean, I get that there's always been the white narrative that black people are criminals, but...a coupon??? We have lost our minds.

Meerkat - 2018-07-16

White people in America lost their minds a long time ago; but now they think they have permission to say shit out loud.

Two words: "Cadillac Welfare Queens"

Thanks, Obama!

Anaxagoras - 2018-07-16

If you read accounts of the slave days, you'll see that we've always been like this. If the slaves started a drumming circle late at night in order to blow off some steam, the masters were convinced it was a devil dance, or some such shit.

Whenever you have a "master race" whose identity is wrapped up in being the superior race, things always get warped, obsessive, and unhealthy. See also: the Afrikaans during Apartheid, the Spartans fearing helot revolts.

kingofthenothing - 2018-07-16

Is it just me or does she sound kind of hot?

Rosebeekee - 2018-07-16

I've got to hand it to The Onion. They've had it rough these last few years. Real life has become crazier then any fake news story they could write, but these recent stories of police being called on black people for doing everyday, humdrum activities has clearly inspired them to make a hilarious-

Wait, this isn't The Onion?

Fuck.

Gypsy_Dildo_Factory - 2018-07-17

Now that I can see it, it certainly does look fake. And the scam would create a scene to manipulate a cashier: holding the line up in a busy store while embarrassing/victimizing some poor senior citizen over a coupon... All to get some adult diapers worth less than $17.99. That is not rational. No one is rational in this.
There is no need to accuse anyone of something. That manufacturer can be contacted during business hours, and CVS has no obligation to honor something like that unless they previously agreed to. If I were there as a fellow customer I'd just pretend to share her indignation a little and really not be at all interested, perhaps think about shoplifting while there is a distraction. This provocative crap was on the 10:00 News today of course.

SolRo - 2018-07-17

The only detail I haven't seen is if they tried scanning the coupon. Real coupons are coded in to their system and just scanning them is all that needs to be done to prove that they're real and not expired.

Gypsy_Dildo_Factory - 2018-07-17

I bet my reputation they scanned it!

M-DEEM - 2018-07-17

Uh...whens the racist part?

betabox - 2018-07-17

You're soaking in it!

M-DEEM - 2018-07-17

Boy, racism sure smells like top-shelf cognac

gmol - 2018-07-18

The whole story for anyone who just saw the video:

Mister Yuck - 2018-07-19

A follow up story:

https://chicago.suntimes.com/business/cvs-coupon-incident-witn ess-says-more-to-viral-story-black-woman-white-manager

Old_Zircon - 2018-07-20

Came in here to post about the brain lesion.

The interesting thing is that most of this is actually in her own description of the video, the only things in this story that are really new are that she told them to call the police the second time and the brain lesion bit.

Gypsy_Dildo_Factory - 2018-07-22

The alarm going off already, seeing where the police are and that they're busy... I'd easily have taken 200 dollars worth of rechargeable batteries and be still living off one of those humongous pill jars full of whey protein plus vitamins and smoked oysters.

dairyqueenlatifah - 2018-07-22

And it turns out all the is bullshit. Shocking.
