link?

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2018-05-01

Click on the "Original" link under the lower right corner. The link worked at first, and then it broke. I think it may have something to do with the fact that Daily Motion tends to default to shortened proxy links, similar to Tiny URL, and POE rejects those.

Accidie - 2018-05-01

it's broken. we should start an archive with the chat stream rolling alongside though. i feel deep regret when i miss the streams.

Gmork - 2018-05-01

i wanted to show up:(

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2018-05-01

These stars are for the fine folks who showed up and made my night.

>>> we should start an archive with the chat stream rolling alongside though. i feel deep regret when i miss the streams.

I was just thinking almost the same thing. I need a clearer sense of who everybody is. RSR and Crab Mentality are both nice guys, and so I got them mixed up for a moment. I often retain a sense of who is kind, and little else. I was just about to talk about posting chat logs in the forum.

When I couldn't finish the subtitles for Zazie Dans Le Metro, that changed everything. I scrapped the whole original program, except for THUNDERCLAP!

Here's what was actually shown:

1. GOLDFINGER (1963)
2. PSYCHO (1960)
3. 78/52 HITCHCOCK'S SHOWER SCENE (2017)
4. LEGO BATMAN (2016)
5. THUNDERCLAP! (1975)
6. SPIDERMAN HOMECOMING (2017)

THUNDERCLAP! was well received, but since it started at 1:00 AM, not everybody could make it to the end. For those who couldn't I intend to post a link, and also I plan an earlier late showing. THUNDERCLAP! has explicit sex, and I'd like to establish a tradition of only streaming explicit sexual content after midnight. I'm thinking about a midnight showing on a Saturday Night, where presumably less people will have work the next day.

Very soon, I'm going to arrange to donate to the server, and when that happens, I'm not going to be shy about off-schedule streams, and when it comes to off schedule streams, I'm not going to be shy about repeating content. I'd love a back to back showing of Hitchcock's Psycho with Gus Van Sant's remake. People hate Van Sant's version, but it strikes me that Hitchcock would approve of the obsessiveness of the project. This was after Good Will Hunting, and Van Sant could have literally done any project he wanted, and a shot-by-shot remake of Psycho is what he picked. It was a deconstruction and a reconstruction. It reminds me of how Hunter Thompson studied writing by copying Faulkner's prose in longhand. Of course, it falls short of the original, there was never any question of that, It's not a movie, it's a term paper.

There are also films that are slow and long and really aren't going to work as part of a five or six movie program. Almost anything by David Lynch qualifies. How about some INLAND EMPIRE?

Awww , thank you JHM!

Louddetective - 2018-05-01

I would definitely try to show up for some Lynch (or anything else really), schedule allowing. I was just thinking the other day how I'd enjoy more interaction with the good PoETV folks, as y'all are my oldest internet family now by a long shot.

cognitivedissonance - 2018-05-02

I enjoyed Thundercrack. It reminded me of Caligula, in that it was clearly sexy to somebody, but that somebody wasn’t me.

The original link in the corner works fine

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2018-05-01

The Embed worked fine at first, and then it just broke. WTF, Daily Motion?

I'm going to reedit this with Trump Tweets in the background

John Holmes Motherfucker - 2018-05-02

Now, clicking on the Original Link doesn't work either. Fuck!
