The very fact that the NFL teams do the anthem and have all bought those ridiculous football field sized flags should satisfy conservatives, but a few players choose not to stand, and they all flip out and cry that the NFL doesn't care about the flag.
My parents are his market. Last time I visited my dad was saying shit akin to "shut up and dribble" when I tried to watch the NBA on Christmas Day, and then there were several rants about his NFL boycott. Their only coffee table book is a Kinkade, and I had to look at all of the pretty pictures.
Other Deep South talking points: Trump is a warrior for Christ, can't believe Hillary isn't in jail yet, "if they would just give Trump a chance they'd understand", etc.
That furrowed brow, that hurt look in his eyes, the way he cradles that flag to his breast -- you can tell it hurts his soul that anyone would besmirch our beloved flag, but it only fills him with the greater conviction to defend her.
This is pretty lazy, really, compared to some of his previous paintings. I mean...the background is totally empty when it could be filled with, like, BLM marchers beating up a veteran and lighting a flag on fire while smoking doobies or something. Totally missed opportunity.
Yeah, what the fuck. When I heard McNaughton was painting Trump I figured we'd have, at the very least, an unearthly scene with all the presidents applauding for him (except Obama and Clinton, who are off to the side applauding for Stalin) while Jesus gives Trump an Oscar and tells him, "you're so much better than me."
Trump looks less like he's cradling and cleaning the flag and more like he's holding a napkin and tucking the flag into his collar like a giant bib before mowing down on a buffet of condor eggs, baby seals, and shark fins.
