In fifth grade I told my DARE officer that I saw a news report that said DARE was mostly ineffective at keeping kids off drugs. He got very pissed off at me and treated me like I was a piece of shit (also because I told him that meditating about not doing drugs was stupid), he acted like I had read it in weekly world news, and not seen it on NBC the night before.
You know what's funny, as a grownish-upish, I acknowledge that all of the stuff that the DARE cops said about drug dealers being sociopaths who will never see you as anything but an idiot who is a completely expendable means to an end was absolutely true, because cops are the exact same way.
As state sanctioned and funded omnicriminals who are in direct competition with all the civilian criminals for victim pool dominance, cops are actually pretty knowledgeable about that kind of crime.
