Looks like they reskinned a Ghostbusters game.

sasazuka - 2017-12-23

The map screen is very similar to David Crane's original Ghostbusters game but the locations look more complex, with multiple levels and rooms, although, granted, the Arachnophobia game has the benefit of being released at least 4 years later.

It doesn't seem to have the business simulation aspect of the Ghostbusters game, though.

If you're desperate for another game in the "games that let you play as John Goodman" genre, there is also the Flintstones movie game.

Plus, if they count, games based on animated movies where John Goodman voiced major characters, and John Goodman provided his own voice as James P. "Sully" Sullivan in a couple of Monsters, Inc. games as well as the truck version of Sullivan in a couple of Cars games.

You don't get to play *as* John Goodman, but don't forget "PYST", the incredibly purile and dumb 'parody' of Myst which featured a load of FMV with Goodman.

I saw that game listed on his IMDb when I was looking up info regarding whether or not John Goodman actually voiced Sully in Monsters, Inc. games.

I'm surprised that a parody game company could afford John Goodman, to be honest.

PYST was great.

StanleyPain - 2017-12-24

Pyst was great as a joke for about 30 minutes, then it kinda collapses in on itself. Myst was crazy popular, but making fun of something solely because it's popular doesn't really have much mileage. The game was inoffensive, made by a small, indie studio (for the time), and was pretty sincere about it's intentions. Making fun of it for hours seems more like petty jealousy than hitting back at a really deserving target.

Played this on an Amiga back in the day.
Shame there's no sound effects in this version like mine.
