So...we're getting a Shadowrun film?

cognitivedissonance - 2017-09-17 So are the orcs aware that they're just forcefully mutated elves, or are they like asexual Warhammer spore people?

William Burns - 2017-09-16
It is difficult to put into words how stupid this looks.

How in the world do you look at this and think Suicide Squad before Alien Nation?
|
spikestoyiu - 2017-09-16 I don't see a trace of Suicide Squad in this, but what do I know
|
SolRo - 2017-09-17 I just got the same vibe from it.
Smith reprises his role as the grizzled cynical veteran with a gun.
Blonde white girl as side heroine.
magical powers = super powers, as far as I care.
grimdark superhero land switched for grimdark fantasy land

"We might be in a prophesy!"
"We are NOT in a prophesy! We're in a stolen 1999 Will Smith vehicle."

For what it's worth I thought Will Smith was one of the better things in suicide squad. How can you not love it when the gun turns from hate to love?
|
Cena_mark - 2017-09-16 Suicide Squad was brilliant. Unfortunately the film's reputation was destroyed by Marvel fanboys.
|
SolRo - 2017-09-17 come on, it wasn't brilliant.
it was hints of decent movie re-edited to fit what some bean-counters thought would sell better.
Any good setup in the movie was ruined by the "now go fight a wizard" plot

Gaseous_Planet - 2017-09-17 The Red Letter Media review of Suicide Squad is worth a watch. They say that the edits/reshoots were done by a company that usually does trailers, which does a lot to explain the pacing/soundtrack of it.
|
Gaseous_Planet - 2017-09-17 But yeah, this seems like a weird Shadowrun ripoff, minus the William Gibson aspect.

I had a would-be roommate who made me read a script of his that was more or less this, except with more Mage: The Ascension stuff involved.
Also he seems to have fallen off the planet so I bet he's in jail or dead from a FetLife scene gone wrong.

As bad as movies are these days, this is the first trailer in a while where I felt embarrassment while watching.
I am calling it now, Jupiter Ascending is better than this.
