They just re-released it earlier this week on PS4 and PC. The video quality is really quite good, which surprises me because most video game source files from that era seem to be entirely lost. I figured they'd just do what all the PS2 remastered games do and upscale the old tiny resolution FMVs and make them look even worse than they did originally.
I'm amazed to hear about a re-release. They had a kickstarter a few years ago that raised almost no support. They also said they already had a "digital HD transfer of the elements", but looking at some footage of the re0release, it just looks like a badly deinterlaced VHS tape.
Yeah, I suppose I should have said that it looks quite good *all things considered*. It definitely looks more VHS quality than a proper source transfer.
Which is crap because you know the original untouched print that could be used for a proper HD transfer is laying around in a basement somewhere.
