rhythm rider, it's a long, convoluted saga involving a wide cast of characters, but the abridged version: Tim is a Christian evangelical and real-estate "investor" who befriended homeless Nick, offering him the opportunity to put Nick's signature on forged documents to take possession of a dead lady's house. The house was sold and they split the $300k sales price 50/50. But Nick flaunted his ill-gotten gain on youtube, got caught and served a year in prison, while Tim remained free. After Nick's release, he attempted to reconnect with Tim, who shunned him, so Nick threatened to expose Tim. Attempting to scare Nick off, he tried to beat Nick up, and this was the result. Tim now awaits trial for battery assault. But again, that's really just scratching the surface.
