Rose from Lost and Robert Forster NOOOOOOOOOO!

I say we start a go fund me so that down on their luck character actors don't have to do shit like this to put food on the table.

Also: I love how cartoonish the lead is. A skeptical atheist JOURNALIST....who might even be maybe a little Jew-y? You don't say!

I just looked up L. Scott Caldwell and she is working outside of acting a lot lately: she's on the national board for SAG.

Poor Faye Dunaway.

Spoiler Alert: The real guy wasn't much of an atheist to begin with. He was sort of a Kirk Cameron "used to be an atheist" type

Our priests have fucked 50% of kids they have come in contact with and people have started to question whether this ancient obsolete institution that operates tax free and keeps demanding money for an invisible friend in the sky is really worthwhile in this day and age...

The only logical explanation is that all atheists secretly blame God for their failed marriage and want to bring the house down over a petty personal grudge.

Five stars.

You're thinking of evil Catholicism, not True, generic Christianity, duh. You never listen to AM radio or something?

What's weird about these is they so frequently invert the hero's journey. It's the story of a single person's opposition to the culturally dominant institution and getting resistance from all around him. The success in the end is that the hero realizes he has been in error the whole time and surrenders to the force he has been struggling against the whole time. It's literally a tragedy.

Holy shit. Five stars that are the result of natural processes in a cruel and uncaring universe.

Accidie - 2017-02-11

You managed to make this even sadder.

Killer Joe - 2017-02-11

It's the villain's journey, bro.

For those unaware, this is based on the long-standing Christian bestseller of the same name by Christian apologist and generally idiotic fellow Lee Stroebel, whose main claim is that he proved God existed because he "argued the case with himself like a lawyer would and approached it like a legal case" ignoring of course the fact that in an actual courtroom setting, the prosecution and the defense are generally not the same person and they are making their arguments to a group of individually minded people, not themselves.
If there's an incredibly stupid, fallacious argument to be made for the existence of God, Stroebel has made it. A grifter of the highest order.
