To maintain relevance he probably could have just as easily doubled down on Trump, since that type was pretty much his core audience already. I don't think TheBlaze will survive his softening.

He doubled down hard for Trump as is. He never turned unlike his former hero Ted Cruz who eventually bowed to the party line. That's where his relevance will fade and at his own doing. He's part of the media machine that created this culture of unyielding political identity. Now that he's no longer down with the party's new order, he's out. From what I've looked into it looks like his Blaze media empire is in a sharp decline. Perhaps we should give him credit for putting his integrity over profit.

If your brand is "illogical opposition to whoever is in power", and it turns out there are actually very serious people who you SHOULD oppose, when you actually oppose them after years of opposing an objectively fairly competent leader for eight years, you come off as insincere.

I knew Glennzo was no good from years of forced watching limited hours of FNC, but I was begrudgingly willing to give Samantha and her writing/production staff the benefit of the doubt and allow that while they are certainly a stunted bunch of stooges with whom I share little in common, they were not actually stupid.
