I don't know, I think this is trying just hard enough.

EvilHomer - 2016-12-18

Exactly. This intro is fantastically entertaining, and it's clearly effort well-spent. The problem here isn't that they're trying too hard, it's that they didn't keep trying this hard for the rest of it.

gravelstudios - 2016-12-17

1. Dr. Misterio's voice and physical appearance do not match at all.
2. I didn't notice his goatee until he turned his head in profile.
3. This is exactly the kind of VHS I'd have rented when I was about 7 or 8.

Caminante Nocturno - 2016-12-17

Dr. Misterio barely shows up after this in his own video.

Cena_mark - 2016-12-18

The video is more about his almanac of fun than it is about him. It's full of cool craft ideas.

Caminante Nocturno - 2016-12-18

You don't introduce someone like Dr. Misterio and then do nothing with him.

Xenocide - 2016-12-18

At 1:22, they clearly began filming before Dr. Misterio was ready.

blue vein steel - 2016-12-17

is this Canadian?

cognitivedissonance - 2016-12-18

According to a thread on Reddit, Illinois.

sasazuka - 2017-12-17

On a tangent from the Canada question, even if the Dr. Misterio segues bridging the individual segments were made in Illinois, wasn't IT FIGURES a TV Ontario show?

Is this a compilation of the most interesting segments from those 5 to 15-minute long educational shows that were made to be shown in school? (Although I usually watched those shows at home, especially on "sick" days.)

sasazuka - 2017-12-17

Correction, IT FIGURES was made in Alberta (what was their version of TVO called? "Access" if I remember correctly.), but it certainly was shown on TV Ontario on weekday afternoons during the school year.

sasazuka - 2017-12-17

Never mind, the IT FIGURES from Alberta was an exercise show. I must have been conflating that title with some other math-based educational show that was either made by or shown on TVO that might have had a pun on "Figures"
in the title (and no, I'm not thinking of Math Patrol, I'm thinking of something aimed more at older children, like maybe intended for math classes around grade 5 or 6).

Braze - 2016-12-18

Why does he laugh so evilly after saying enjoy
Is this video an ironic Dr. Misterio prank?

Xenocide - 2016-12-18

YES, IT IS I, DR. MISTERIO. GAZE UPON MY STOCK FOOTAGE, ACQUIRED AT MINIMAL COST. WE BELIEVE IN FRUGALITY HERE IN THE DARK REPURPOSED GARAGE OF MYSTERY.

Kid Fenris - 2016-12-18

The opening of Dr. Misterio's theme song made me expect Bonnie Tyler to start singing.

blue vein steel - 2016-12-18

I kind of got a "China Girl" thing from the backing track

cognitivedissonance - 2016-12-18

I fell asleep last night with the lyrics to this in my head and I dreamt of Dr. Misterio. He could fly.
