My lady woke me up last night to tell me about this because she knows I love Leonard Cohen. He has plenty of bad songs, to be sure, but his good songs are exceptionally good... He's one of the artists that had a tangible, positive effect on my life. When I was a child, "Everybody Knows" was one of the first songs that helped bring me to the realization that music can be more than just sounds you enjoy hearing and that lyrics can be something worth pondering.
