I actually liked this movie despite its awfulness. Komodo was awesome and the film had Dennis Dun. It was basically a wuxia movie for kids with giant kangaroos.
Also, dude really looks like Roland Orzabal from Tears for Fears.
Ronny Yu is definitely a good director, but his style is very strange in the context of a US family movie.
