San Diego is weird. I've been there quite a few times over the years and I never figured the place out.

It's a beach town with a strong military presence that also just happens to be right next to Mexico. That coupled with the fact that San Diego is cut off from the rest of the state geographically it all adds to the mix that is sd-SD.

Can you tell me with a straight face someone at a Trump rally in a "Black Lives Matter" hat would have been treated differently?

Actually, they would have. They would have actually been injured and nobody would have tried to get them back on their feet and get them to safety. We know this because it LITERALLY happened at a Trump rally in Birmingham, Alabama. A man in a "Black Lives Matter" shirt was shoved to the ground and kicked & punched, while a fellow protestor tried vainly to keep back the men who were stomping, kicking and punching the victim.

This asshole showed up and made sure everyone noticed his hat, which he wore to intentionally provoke a fight. As people around him got upset, he wore a shit-eating grin and yelled about freedom of speech. When someone tried to snatch the hat, he claimed someone had tried to hit him on the head.

Instead of just walking away when the crowd turned ugly, he repeatedly stopped and waved the hat around in front of them knowing more people would attempt to snatch it. When a sufficient number of people turned hostile, he started screaming like a lunatic and running. But instead of running to open ground and the safety of the police who were there to keep an eye on the protest, he turned and ran back into the crowd. A White dude tried to trip him, but the asshole dodged it.

The asshole was then hit in the back by a thrown water bottle. He howled and flopped against another White guy who more or less let him continue falling to the ground where the asshole laid on his back with his legs curled in the air and continued howling. Someone finally yanks the hat out of his hand and walks off with it.

If you watch the asshole's own video at this point, you'll see him lying on the ground NOT being kicked or pummeled. Instead, someone is trying to help him back up and you can hear another man, who we can see in this video is Black, shouting at people to stay back.

The asshole is finally pulled to his feet and people try to get him away from the crowd, but the asshole resists. Finally, we see him blubber to the cops about being assaulted despite any sign of injury.

I hope he gets gassy diarrhea for a month.

BLM has a pretty big presence in my neighborhood and I do have one complaint about them.

They've gotten involved with the local Community Acupuncture Center and personally I think acupuncture is pretty much bunk, like chiropractic and for me personally I'd rather not see BLM associate their name with it.

Other than that A-OK with me. In particular, the after-school arts and math program they've been involved with seems pretty great.

Hey maybe you could go bring it up with them? I mean, a lot of people just accept acupuncture as having real medical benefits, it's one of those 'common knowledge' things that said lot of people don't bother examining.

Every 'chapter' is pretty independent, so taking it to the personal meeting level with the local group seems appropriate.
