Good god those edits.

I like how he never hid his daddy issues.

About this time, I sent him a fan letter. He sent me back a huge care package of original Spumco art and internal development documents. My dad destroyed it because he felt envious of a stranger.

Wow, really? That's messed up. Say what you will about what John K gets up to when not properly tempered by proper management - he's always really good about responding to his fans.

Whoa, that's awful. That's bizarre because it sounds exactly like one of his stories about his dad. In one of the commentaries on one of the Ren & Stimpy DVDs he said his dad destroyed sketchbooks when he was a kid that he'd worked all summer on because he didn't like him drawing all the time. He said his dad also threatened to destroy a bunch of his comics so he had to give them to a friend.

Even though John K has self destructed too much to run a tv-show for a long time or direct a feature film I've always felt sort of bad for him because it sounds like his might be even crueler than he normally lets on.

I had a friend in high school whose dad worked at the same ad firm as Warhol, but a couple years later after Warhol started to get big. When he left, he took literally hundreds of original, early Warhol illustrations with him.

I'm fuzzy on the details of how they ended up at hi dad's house (my friend's grandfather) but they did, and the dad threw them all in the garbage. Not because he didn't know who Warhol was, but because he thought Warhol's art was bad.

Pretty much the worst story like that I've ever heard.

The thing that always amazes me about Mr. John K is his glaringly obvious issues with his father.

Reading up on John K, he reminds me of Action Johnny, the Johnny Quest parody from the venture brothers. Especially during this sequence

Yeah, I saw the same daddy issues in Kricfalusi as I had in myself.

My brother has been willed a Goya by his wife's incredibly wealthy family. I've told him it's likely value and he said "As soon as the parents are dead, it's on the auction block." Kind of sad, but if he doesn't see the value, sell it to someone who does.

I wouldn't want something that nice in my house. Sell it, buy a nice reproduction, spend the money you would've spent on insurance on museum memberships.

Ahh John K, my favorite hack.
