I'm sorry Turkey likes us more than it likes Russia, SolRo, but if you guys get Cuba, then it's only fair that we get an equally well-positioned missile base of our own.

Bus_Aint_Comin - 2016-03-10

if russia invaded turkey tomorrow nato would ignore it. its not like they're poland or something. their behavior is completely embarrassing to nato (shooting down russians over syria, trafficking ISIS oil, bullshit like this) and they're nato in name only at this point.

memedumpster - 2016-03-10

James Risen and the Associated Press called, they said "welcome to planet Obama."

Bobonne - 2016-03-10

Turkey and Russia are both assholes, Putin and whatsisname in charge of Turkey are both fucking assholes, and you're a dumb asshole for eating up the shit the Russian propaganda machine churns out, SolRo.

GUESS WHAT. TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT. Someone in the west being an idiot doesn't make someone from Russia being an idiot anything else.

You used to have a brain. What the fuck happened to you.

SolRo - 2016-03-10

This is propaganda now?

Islam: forging totally cool nations since the seventh century.

baleen - 2016-03-10

Of all the horrible things Turkey has done as our ally this has to be at the bottom of the list. It's tragic that you would exploit the new rise of fascism in the area as a means of propping up your favorite fascist, Vlad P, but that's the kind of kneejerk analysis we all know and love you here for, Solly.

Turkey, for all its problems, was thought to be on the mend from the problems created in the wake of Ataturk, with the exception of the Kurdish problem, and on a positive trajectory in recent decades.

Rather than take the pro-Russian propaganda shitstain line, I would rather voice my concern and support for what's left of secular Turkey. I hope they can get out of this mess.

By the way SolRo, what does Assad's cum taste like?

SolRo - 2016-03-10

Considering Assad is doing whatever Russia tells him, including adhering to the ceasefire Russia brokered (when it didn't have to, could have just retaken the rest of Syria), even someone as utterly retarded as you should be able to tell that Assad is the bitch in the Russia/Syria relationship.

By the way, you remember the taste of your "moderate" terrorist boyfriend me cum? Because he's dead now, so never getting any of his dick again.

EvilHomer - 2016-03-10

Think of this as sane and much-needed press-control, Mr SolRo. Unregulated press is a dangerous thing; it can lead to conspiracy theories, anti-government terrorism, and even death.

You're not a press-nut, are you?

dairyqueenlatifah - 2016-03-10

Well luckily these folks were in Turkey. Any other Islamic-majority nation's leader would have just executed them all.

Hazelnut - 2016-03-11

Turkey's current government SUCKS. But

- The Turkish people did pick them; they won the last election by a pretty big margin
- The EU is tolerating them; cooperation needed too badly on refugees
- The US is looking away; cooperation (or at least minimum tolerance) needed over Syria

But Erdogan is painting his country into a terrible corner where NO major power in the world has any sympathy for them - not EU, not US, not even Russia after that dick-waving contest. I doubt future Turk historians will remember him fondly.

StanleyPain - 2016-03-11

In the fucked up world of the Mideast, Turkey is probably pretty low on offenders in terms of "OMG THEY ARE OUR ALLIES OBAMA IS A HITLER" leftist bullshit.

Wake me up when self-described liberals get as upset over this as they do over the shit that "ally" Saudi Arabia (who are literally funding the Muslim Brotherhood as we speak) does on a daily basis. SOMEONE SAID A MEANS TO KESHA OMG HASHTAG THIS oh atheists and gays are being beheaded in saudi arabia *snore*

SolRo - 2016-03-11

The police is gong into uppity Kurdish areas, killing anything that moves, and counting all the bodies as PKK terrorists.

Hazelnut - 2016-03-11

And if Erdogan and Putin hadn't had a falling out, Turkey would still be Russia's ally and SolRo would support this.
