I was raised Catholic so any Monty Python bit that involves clergy reading from the Bible really resonates with me.

What really works with Python is the give and take of it. Palin and Jones were Catholic and Oxford, Cleese and Chapman were Protestant and Cambridge, Idle and Gilliam were both outsiders and plebs. There was a lot of push and pull with class and station in their work.
