I thought the correct description is to be blown out rather than sucked out. At least that's what I recall from an episode of TNG where Data corrected someone during an investigation of a decompression incident.
Eek! I already have a fear of flying, like this will happen on every flight I take just because I'm on it. I wonder what goes through peoples' heads when they're like "this could be it.. let me just grab my phone and record it." I'd either be crying like a little baby or take the opportunity to grab as much booze out of the kitchen as I could, and cry like a little drunk baby.
Probably for the same reason Bort hasn't written a page long screed defending it: I don't think they've established who is actually behind it yet. If a group like Al Shabab claims responsibility you can expect more coverage including Bort's "what I object to is anyone suggesting this is in some way related to Islamic extremists" and "the West's just as bad".
