just wow

roofle - 2016-01-28

Is he doing a shoot for WWE? If so, I'm impressed.

Accidie - 2016-01-28

He actually is. I read that he's a big wrestling fan and is basically engaging everybody as an over the top heel.

Cena_mark - 2016-01-28

I thought that. I look forward to the match.

Old_Zircon - 2016-01-28

Between this guy and Trump I guess 2016 is starting to look like the year pro wrestlers take over.

infinite zest - 2016-01-28

So it's Martin Shkreli v. any member of the Wu Tang Clan; who's your mark? Mine's Cappadonna.

Cena_mark - 2016-01-28

http://www.wwe.com/superstars/donald-trump
I'll go with the obvious pick of the RZA, since he did Grave Diggaz.

infinite zest - 2016-01-28

Oh yeah.. guess it'd probably be a tag team. I'd still go with Cappadonna and Method Man though; Bobby D doesn't seem like he could do much in the ring, although Gravediggaz are awesome.

lotsmoreorcs - 2016-01-29

Cena i am perpetually amazed by the artfulness of your face turn

Cena_mark - 2016-01-29

Let me tell you something Orcs. Even when I was a conservative I still listened to legit hip hop. Public Enemy kept me from passing the point of no return.

infinite zest - 2016-01-28

Preload image guy on the left = some white dude. Martin's turning backpack rap into suitcase rap. Wu Tang Clan still ain't nothing to fuck with.

Meerkat - 2016-01-28

Without you, you are nothing. I mean without me. I mean um YOU AIN'T BAD YOU AIN'T NOTHIN'! YOU AIN'T NOTHIN'!

Scrotum H. Vainglorious - 2016-01-28

He hire these guys off of skidrow?

OxygenThief - 2016-01-29

He found them on LinkedIn.

infinite zest - 2016-01-29

Hired Goons?

Albuquerque Halsey - 2016-01-28

Shadowrun: Orange County

CIWB - 2016-01-28

This is more depressing than funny to me.

Martin Shkreli, like Donald Trump, should be a joke. But they're not. Shkreli is a mule-millionaire who controls access to lifesaving medicine, and there's a good chance Donald Trump could be the next President of the United States.

I feel like society has dramatically regressed backwards in what it expects from its leaders, both political and otherwise.

Waugh - 2016-01-28

lol what is the ruling class fuckin idiot

Cena_mark - 2016-01-28

We have regressed. I remember when people used to bemoan our political knowlege being shrunk into the soundbite, now it's based on memes.

In my day, Americans marked for the face rather than the heel.

lotsmoreorcs - 2016-01-28

this dude along with ethan couch, dylan kleibold and eric harris is a sheek new breed of American Hero

Oscar Wildcat - 2016-01-28

He shure is sheek, that Shkreli!

The Mothership - 2016-01-28

He'll just disappear one day, and never be seen again.

Word is bond.

Cena_mark - 2016-01-28

That's what makes this guy's rant so pathetic. He dismisses Ghostface and his legacy, but what has the little weasel man done? Ghostface is a hip hop legend, he's created great music. Little turd man has created nothing. All he does is buy things and sells them back at higher prices. He's the one leaching off Ghostface's spotlight.

lotsmoreorcs - 2016-01-29

ok so he's got cuban linx with rae, bulletproof wallets, supreme clientele, but he has also put out a lot of shit

EvilHomer - 2016-01-29

Please, Cena. Shrekli is right: he owns Ghostface. Ghostface is an old man who wasted his youth playing the tough guy, and now has nothing to show for it. He forgot that it isn't 1997 anymore; tried to punk Master Shrek, got put in his place.

Besides, what exactly did Ghostface DO? His legacy is talking over someone else's music. We're not talking about the RZA here (the REAL musician), hell, we're not even talking about ODB. Ghostface spent his entire career leaching off other people's spotlights, and now the People are waking up to the truth.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-29

Shrek was a man with a dream with plans to make C.R.E.A.M.
Which succeeded.

Don't hate the player cuz you don't got game, Ghost.

infinite zest - 2016-01-29

I've actually liked all his stuff I've heard with the possible exception of Ghostdini, which was a weird (and kinda dumb) idea to begin with. I'd say out of all the Wu Tang Clan he's got the most consistently good solo output, even if a lot of it sounds kinda the same.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-29

Actually, I have no idea what any of his solo stuff sounds like. What is his best track? Most representative? Worst?

Cena_mark - 2016-01-29

Sampling is a legitimate artform. It's a huge part of hip hop. Show some respect.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-29

Sampling is fine, so long as it's done with restraint and in service to real music. The RZA, for example, used samples less than half the time (according to Wikipedia, as little as 20%); most of the music RZA puts out, he composed and played himself. Or consider White Zombie: White Zombie used tons of samples, to Most Badass of effect, but those rockin' samples were just another instrument in their audial arsenal. Samples weren't the sole basis behind what White Zombie put out!

You should know this, Cena - you're a musician. You play instruments. You're not a punk like Ghostface. If punks like Ghostface are going to sample AND THAT'S IT, then they might as well just go full Milli Vanilli, because at that point what do they have to lose?

EvilHomer - 2016-01-29

For example: let's say that Shkreli takes that gold WuTang album he owns and starts rapping over it. Records the results and sells millions of copies to tweenagers who've never even heard of the WuTang Clan.

What would you say to that? "That's bullshit"? Noooooo, it's just sampling! He's SAMPLING WuTang Clan songs! He's honoring their memory!

Cena_mark - 2016-01-29

It takes more than just the samples to make a great hip hop record. Much of it is indeed in the creativity in it's use, but the skills of the MC are also important. Through making hip hop, I have learned many instruments, but not everyone has the ability or patience for that. Some people just want to MC, but they need a beat. For them sampling is the best way.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-29

That's fair. I understand that not everyone can play every instrument, and sometimes, in order to make a record work, people need to rely on others. For example, I can't play drums - if I'm jamming out and I need a drum track, I've either got to get someone else to do it, make a really crappy beat with a drum machine, or put on a looped sample! If literally *all* you can do is rap, then I guess you need to work with what you've got.

However, I still maintain that this makes Ghostface one of the least-useful members of WuTang. He's not RZA, he's not ODB; he's their Ringo, if you will.

Cena_mark - 2016-01-29

I've never really been big on Wu Tang, and don't know much about them. I just know I'd never take Shkreli's side over any of theirs.

EvilHomer - 2016-01-29

He's living the perfect gangsta lifestyle, though! He's in the drug game, and he makes a ton of cash doing it. What's wrong with that?

Binro the Heretic - 2016-01-28

Piss on this fucking turd.

Seriously, I'm sick of hearing about him.

Miss Henson's 6th grade class - 2016-01-28

Tough talk for a man facing trial for white-collar crimes.

Rodents of Unusual Size - 2016-01-28
