teethsalad - 2015-12-09 s. korea had a bunch of weird laws restricting imports from japan, especially cultural stuff until not too long ago because of the military occupation of korea. having samsung release it was a loophole

Panasonic, Goldstar and I think a third did this with the 3DO system, but there was never any 3DO IP, that is to say like a Mario or Sonic IP that basically sold the system. It just seems weird to outsource your mascot along with your system, when your character is what's selling the system everywhere else. It'd basically be like letting Mickey Mouse merchandise be sold at a Six Flags or something.

The cartoony bits are amazing, but as an old game nerd, I'm most amused by them using Super Thunder Blade to show off the Genesis. No newcomer could play that lousy thing for more than three seconds without crashing.
