Yeah.. I pretty much learned how to read on my own because of my brother's Garfield books, but Garfield Mania was huge in the US, a good decade before the CGI movies came out. It was a little bit like Simpsons Mania, where "Do the Bartman" took center stage during the series' best years; it happens to everything but I never felt that Garfield deserved the oversaturation, because there's not much substance in a 3 panel (7 on Sundays) comic strip to begin with.

at the moment? jim davis deserves a guiness record for "most money made with the least talent".
