I realize that the American right is pretty much always stupid about everything, but the level of ignorance about ISIS that is being shown by the current round of candidates is astounding in ways that almost surpass the Herman Cain-level "Uzbekibekibekistan" stuff.

Neo-cons seem to think that Syria *is* ISIS or something rather than the understanding that most of the problems there right now are due to the societal backlash against the Muslim Brotherhood and the refugees are people trying to GET AWAY from Islamic theocrats.
I know that most of that is because of racism, but it's still something sickly fascinating to see in action.
