Corporations have been pulling Christmas themed stuff for years, including Macy's and nobody really cared, because it was being sensitive. Why's everybody having a fit about Starbucks getting rid of Snowflakes on cups?

infinite zest - 2015-11-14 Also if I recall, the cups were never anything overtly Christian, just snowflakes and such, which in fact is offensive to those of us in Hawaii, Texas, Louisiana, California and probably Oregon who will just get a warm or wet and muddy Christmas this year.

infinite zest - 2015-11-14 What's funny is that all the former Starbucks lovers have now begun to praise Dunkin Donuts, who scrambled to get a cup out there that says "Joy" on it. And that IS Christian, or at least alluding to the song Joy to the World. And, you know, what I said above about snowflakes and such.
But I can't remember the last time I went to a Starbucks, even though I'm surrounded by 5 of them in 5 city blocks, especially in Winter. Did they ever have cups that said "Merry Christmas" on them? Because that sets a precedence, kind of like an Irish bar and St. Patricks Day. If some chain of Irish bars (I dunno.. does Rock Bottom count?) took down all their St. Patricks Day stuff because it celebrates a Saint, people would be just as pissed. But as far as I know that was never the case with the old Starbucks.

That's what the hopper is for, but sometimes people vote stuff up just to slaughter it once it's free, like a baby fluffy bunny, still downy with its soft newborn pelt , peeking it's cute little fuzzy head out into the big wide world for the very first time, hearing encouraging sounds, venturing all the way clear of the warm burrow and suddenly being garrotted from behind with a length of razor wire.
Such is life, and death, in the dark corners of the Internet.

This whole Starbucks "controversy" is such a non-story. A few dumb Christian types raised a fuss about a trivial issue and the usual clickbait Nu-Media whore news sites blew it up to like, an army of fanatics protesting.
Much like how some chan trolls managed to kick off the whole Racist Star Wars Boycott story not long ago, which was elevated to a major story and even after handwringing pieces in Esquire and whatnot where people admitted that maybe some media people were a little credulous but couldn't seem to figure out why they and their NuMedia colleagues keep falling for this sort of crap. Certainly the constant competition for clickbait $$$$$$$$$$$$$ has NOTHING do to with it, and besides there's still PROBABLY an legion of Star Wars hating bigots out there anyways.
